Eagerly-awaited autumn energy drink rankings!

1 / C4 - Orange Slice
2 / Prime - Original Flavor
...
3 / Prime - Lemon Lime
4 / Prime - Orange Mango
...
5 / NOS - Original (NOT the sugar-free one)
6 / Monster

C4 Orange Slice is still the overwhelming favorite. LOVE IT! I order it by the crate off Amazon. Original Prime is right behind it, another favorite. Those are my go-to's whenever I can get them.

Enjoying them as much as I can, just in case they disappear again down the line, which Orange Slice did for awhile before coming back in bulk everywhere again. Hope it's permanent.

Mixing it up again with both Prime Lemon Lime and Orange Mango, especially the latter. Took a break for a few months, but back to liking it as a backup (maybe because of #1).

If none of those are available, NOS is still solid and I've had Monster for the first time in a couple years when that's all a place had. Solid. I can dig it every so often.

Bucked Up Cherry Candy drops off the list entirely. Bucked Up must have changed the formula the past couple of months, because it tastes nothing like it used to, let alone cherry.

Time for a February update!

These are the only two that I've drank more than once in the past 4-6 months. Same order -- 1A and 1B. Still taste amazing, especially Orange Slice. Still easy to order -- or buy in the towns/cities outside of Las Vegas. Vegas has plenty of C4 and Prime, but it's hard to find those two flavors.

C4 is coming out with a bunch of new flavors -- Jolly Rancher (Green Apple, Watermelon, Blue Razz), Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red, Orange Creamsicle, Sour Gummy Splash, Cosmic Rainbow, Strawberry Blast, etc., so I'm hoping they don't go overboard last time they did stupid new flavor collaborations (Skittles and Starburst flavors), phasing out "normal" flavors like Orange Slice, but it's been around consistently for almost two years now, so I'm fine for for the time being.

I tried Watermelon Jolly Rancher and thought it was solid... if I see another can when I'm out, I'd try another. Not a big fan of the Hawaiian Punch flavor, but it was the first time I tried it.

Cosmic Rainbow looks kind of Sleekish/gay, but I'd try it (the energy drink, not being gay), as well as the Strawberry Blast. C4 Orange Slice and Prime Original Flavor are my only regulars for most of the past year-plus.

It's fascinating to see the myriad selections of beverages for boosting vitality and invigoration.

So far, I've never tried an energy drink.

That's one of the crazy things, I drink them just for the taste. So good/smooth. "New school" energy drinks, like Celsius, are sugar free, no (or few) calories, increase your metabolism and even burn body fat, and have electrolytes, and I'm over here just loving the taste... nothing more.

I used to drink a lot of pop when I was younger, and energy drinks have B-vitamins and other benefits to them compared to Pepsi or Mountain Dew. I'm probably addicted to caffeine, as in if I didn't have one for a few days I might get a headache, but I have no reason to try. I'm not sensitive to caffeine, pregnant, or a child. It's just habit -- always have one in my hand usually.

Energy drinks calm me down, which is even crazier. I can drink one right before I go to sleep and zonk out. I feel chill and relaxed when I'm drinking one. A co-worker said that caffeine can have a calming effect on people with ADHD, and even though it would make sense, I've never been diagnosed with it. It's my equivalent of smoking a cigarette -- just chill and relaxed.

If you drink pop, you should give one a try instead of the empty calories/sugar in pop. I don't know where you are from, but if you have Celsius, there are probably 20-30 flavors in convenience stores, and that's a small can like Red Bull.

I've never been a fan of soda. I tried Pepsi or Coke, don't recall which, once as a young child, but disliked the taste and haven't had another carbonated beverage since.

It's interesting to hear about the positive on the effects of caffeine-based energy drinks on ADHD.

Time for my heading-into-the-summer energy drink update!

Last update I'd only stuck with my top two, and while they're still the top two, the order has changed! Plus, I've drank a bunch of other flavors since then.

While I still love C4 Orange Slice, a couple months ago Prime Original just jumped ahead of it. It's harder to find it, so when I go without for a few days/a week, damn it tastes so good.

When I swing by the Pilot station in White Hills on my way back to Vegas and look through their massive coolers of energy drinks, I find myself saying "FUCK YES" more often when I see a full row of Prime Original than I do C4 Orange Slice.

Then they stopped stocking it in the last month, so back to Amazon. I ordered four crates of it that arrived today, so that should hold me for a couple of weeks.

I REALLY loved C4's Cherry Limeade flavor, but it seems like it was in stock for a short time over the past couple of months. Right when I was going to add it to my cart yesterday with Prime Original, I saw that Prime has a Cherry Limeade flavor! Since Prime has jumped ahead now, I'm trying that one out, so while I've never tasted it yet (***), I think that's going to be its place on the list.

On top of that, while I haven't seen them yet in stores, the Prime I ordered on Amazon comes in the 16-ounce cans now, instead of the 12's! BIG-TIME game changer since the in-store cans are still the small ones. Hope that's permanent.

I tried some of C4's new flavors that have come out and liked a few, but I've only drank those if they're out of Orange Slice and Prime Original. Those are the only two I'll drink daily.

Monster has come back one my list. Even though it's the only one that still has sugar, I don't care about that at all; I can't drink the sugar free Monster. If I'm at some mom-and-pop convenience store that doesn't have much of a selection, Monster is the best of the OG's (Red Bull, Monster, Rockstar, etc.) and I like it again. I can't drink Red Bull without vodka, and Rockstar is fine, but it's hard to slam one of those.

Here's my excellent updated list:

1] Prime Original Flavor
2] C4 Orange Slice
...
Prime Cherry Limeade *** (haven't tried yet, but there's one in the freezer to get cold fast as I type this post)
C4 Cherry Limeade
C4 Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red
C4 Grape Popsicle
Monster Energy Drink
C4 Fruit Punch
C4 Frozen Bombsicle (I got tired of this one for a long time, but tried them again and it's a solid replacement if the other flavors are out)
...
C4 Cosmic Rainbow
C4 Strawberry Blast
...
Prime - Ice Pop (hadn't had one in awhile; not as good as I remembered)
...
C4 Arctic Snow Cone (not as "sweet" as the rest, even though they're all sugar free)
C4 Tropical Tundra Frost (Same as above. Something is missing in these two.)
C4 Jolly Rancher Blue Raspberry (I grabbed one thinking it was Frozen Bombsicle! Hated it.)

Anybody heard of Bum Energy Drink? https://bum.energy/ (I'm guessing it was probably named after the sad cases who are still KISS fans. JUST KIDDING!)

I tried it for the first time this week -- Root Beer and Cherry Frost flavors. Not going to update my list for awhile still, but they were both pretty good.

There are so many new flavors though that I probably won't try them again anytime soon. No use getting attached and then it being phased out.

This was the first time I checked out their website when I linked it here; I didn't know there were so many flavors. I like that there's Grape , and "Champion Mentality" (citrus?) sounds intriguing. Damn... more Amazon orders incoming. Still not going to get it unless I see it catch on in more locations.

Prime Original is still my #1 right now, but I have to order it from Amazon since my usual (former) spots don't have it; other flavors, but not the white/original.

So damn good though.

I tried a few new ones this past week after I saw them stocked at my main spot -- the Pilot/Subway in White Hills (AZ) on the way back to Vegas. This place has the biggest selection of energy drinks I've seen anywhere, so it's always my go-to when I'm driving back from the desert.

Some quick reviews since they likely won't make the Top 10 list.

28 Black (Classic Energy Taste) - Apparently, this is a German(!) energy drink. Hopefully they get sued since it tastes exactly like Rockstar Energy Drink -- along with the added sugar and calories. I didn't finish the can. I don't care at all about sugar or calories, but since my favs are sugar free with 10 calories, the new drinks have a lot of competition.

Black Rifle Energy Drink ("Freedom Punch") - Did you know BRCC makes ENERGY DRINKS now?!? Neither did I! I wanted to like this, because veterans and stuff, but it's too weak. Even though it's "sugar free", it doesn't taste as sweet as whatever fellow "sugar free" energy drink brands Prime and C4 have in their energy drinks. I barely finished the can. They have three other flavors called Wild Frost, Ranger Berry, and Project Mango. I'll probably pass on them, which means some veterans will end up dying because of me.

Ranch Fuel (Agave Lime) - I'm drinking this one now since I bought them together to try. Same thing about BR. It has "zero sugar", but the taste is just a little weak. Maybe it's the agave lime flavor, which doesn't taste much different than if you melted one of those ice pop freezie things, so it's alright. I'll probably finish this can, but I don't think I'll buy another over my regulars, and the other flavors aren't that appealing: Blueberry Pomegranate, Orange Cream, Mango Twist, Blackberry Lemonade and Kiwi Watermelon.

Other than that, I tried another Bum Energy Drink flavor: Cherry Frost. Along with the Root Beer flavored energy drink, it was solid... better than the previous three. Looks like they have 11 flavors, including likely soda/pop knockoffs Grape, Dr. Bum, Cola, and one called "Hard To Kill"! I might have to check them out.
