I went back in 2023. Now recreational marijuana is legal, and it seems like a little pot cloud hangs over Manhattan. It doesn't bother me any, I don't smoke myself, but I don't care if others do.
But what fascinated me, on both trips, was NYPD. As long as you don't hurt anyone or steal anything, they don't give a damn what you do!
I saw people smoking and even selling weed on the street, jaywalking, just little things that NYPD won't bat an eyelash at.
We could never trust LAPD to just be that cool!
