Unsane - 3/10 . Pretty dumb. Like a bad lifetime movie. Acting is awful. Camera work is terrible - even for an iphone. I use Moviepass, so I didn't feel the sting of paying money out of my pocket to see this one. Had I paid $15.75 to see this I would have been pissed.

A Quiet Place - 7.5/10. I thought it was pretty good, but not quite as good as everyone says. It was original and interesting.

Chappaquiddick - 4/10. Quite boring. It was well made, but just a boring well made movie.

Another classic from Wes Anderson. He's on a roll. Stop-motion was great, just as it was with "Fantastic Mr. Fox," and the writing and voice acting are terrific as well.

"Super Troopers 2" - 7.5/10

Caught a free screening of this one with a Q&A. I think this one stands up to the original. I don't think of the original as a classic, just a really funny movie. This one fits that same bill as well. Not a classic, but very funny nonetheless.

I loved the first Super troopers, and then was disappointed w everything they did since. I forgot about part 2 coming out. Wasn't it supposed to hit theatres last fall?

I'm not a Star Wars guy so I didn't have any of that weirdo dogma that prevented me from liking it.
This is what I don't get. People who are not Star Wars nerds liking this movie. This movie was not just a bad Star Wars movie, it is a BAD MOVIE. It was so boring (slowest space chase in movie history), it had so many plot holes, the acting was bad, the humor was not funny. The only reason I might eventually see it again is to solidify my opinion. Maybe it's not as bad as I remember. But I doubt it.

Beirut - 4/10. Convoluted and boring. Bad character development and shot boring.

The miracle season - 7/10. Feel good movie about a girls volleyball team continuing after the team captain is killed. You get exactly what you expect when you hear the premise. Still a good family movie.

I wanted to so much more from it. How bad was his alcoholism? Some interviews with his old groupies/girlfriends...interview some people who really hated him. It didn't suck but I was disappointed

wrestling with shadows and beyond the mat > Andre the giant

Watched this the other day. Was pretty good. I hate how they made it seem like wrestle mania was the only time they wrestled. I agree they should have had some people who were on his bad side like big john stud, King Kong bundy, and iron sheik. Saw an interview with bundy, he didn’t like Andre and how everyone was expected to kiss his ass. Vince comes across as a sociopath. His demeanor reminds me of some of the people I have worked with in treatment,

"Love, Simon" - 8/10

Really well-made, charming movie. The direction and production design were a little glossy, but the acting and writing were great, especially by its star Nick Robinson.

"Chappaquiddick" - 7/10

Fascinating movie. Well-written and acted, but with direction that was somewhat flat. I think now that maybe the release shift to April from the awards season of last year was due to people realizing it just didn't get all the way up to that level of awards prestige. But Jason Clarke is great as Ted Kennedy. Besides being a really good actor, he's a perfect match looks-wise. Ed Helms is also really strong in this and it's cool to see him there because he doesn't usually get cast in serious dramas.

Southpaw (2015) - 3/10:
Maybe the most derivative movie I've ever seen. Might as well call it a remake of Rocky, for the benefit of a shitty-ass soundtrack and lame modern entourage pseudo thuglife bullshit. Rachel McAdams gets killed before she can hot it up enough.

The Killing Fields (1984) - 7/10:
Not bad, but I expected something completely different, or at least much more. If I hadn't been to Cambodia, I'd have zero idea what's going on at all times. In the end, it's just a buddy movie and not very political. The last 45min save it, I guess.

The Butler (2013) - 6/10:
Civil rights tear jerker with too much patriotic pathos and too little Mariah Carey.

Enchanted (2007) - 2/10:
I love Amy Adams and I like musicals, but holy fuck, are these songs terrible. And you'd think that's the main focus of the always super original fish-out-of-water princess story.

Sparse and brutal. Not much happens story-wise, but it's well-directed, and Joaquin Phoenix is a beast in it.

I watched Gladiator again on Encore for the first time probably since seeing it in theaters all those years ago. One of those films like Children of Men that just don't seem to be aired all that often. As you all know it's a 10. Joaquin Phoenix chewing up scenery like a mofo...

Avengers Infinity War

8/10

May go up after the next Avengers, depending how that turns out. Avoid spoilers, it's worth seeing it not knowing what's going to happen.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 7/10 Good movie. Second time seeing it. Liked it, but just wasn't as good as The Force Awakens. Got boring in parts.

Gonna watch Dunkirk tonight.
