What's been quoted online (not by the US government, but by people good at analysis), is they took the US trade defecit with country X and divided it by that country's exports to the US. The specific example I saw quoted was Indonesia has a $17.9bn trade defecit with the US and Indonesia exports $28bn-worth of goods to the US. 17.9/28 = 0.64, divide by two (exports vs imports) and you get the US imposing a 32% "counter-tarriff" on Indonesian imports. In real life, Indonesia doesn't have a 64% or 32% tarriff on US imports. It's bullshit mathematics from a guy whose entire life has been built on bullshit. But retards like Brad Welp just love to slurp bullshit and no doubt consider Indonesia to be one of those "shithole countries" anyway.

Here's the thing though - NONE of this is about "what those countries charge us". Very few other countries charge tariffs on American goods. What this is actually about is trade deficits, or the balance of payments. You buy more from other countries than they buy off you.
