Parents took us to see this in the theater and it became an instant classic that I have also re-watched many times.Turner Coates wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:12 pm Re-watched this classic.

Nosferatu (2024) 8/10
This thing is shot beautifully. Every visual in here is gorgeous. As far as Dracula movies, it's up there, and it's also a worthy successor to the 1979 version, which is one of my favorite movies. I'd been excited for this since Eggers said he was doing it, and he was definitely the man for the job.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Gladiator: what a bore. The special effects looked bad, the last half was a drag. Crap.
Anora: such a blast! Hilarious twists and turns, amazing dialogues.
The Apprentice: mixed bag. Great performances, cool setting, but it goes over the flaws of the main character a little easily.
Misericorde: strange little French film, nothing ever goes as you'd expect and it's great fun
The Substance: pretty good premise, fun gore, good performance, but... Halfway through the film felt like it was done, maybe I expected too much of it.
Small Things Like These: fantastic, if you don't mind a slow burning drama just go see it.
Kneecap: Purple Rain but with Irish hiphopdruglords. Cool beans.
Crossing Istanbul: little cheesy, but funny enough and a good ending.

Wait. Gladiator or the recent sequel? Because the first one is fantastic.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
I watched THE BIKE RIDERS.
It was okay. I just felt like I was being pandered to or something. Like, every cool prestige actor I wanted to see was in it playing exactly the type of cool people they should have been playing and it really looked like a high prestige project...gritty, well shot, realistic...
Buuuuuut it seemed like something was missing. Like, the center of the movie or any real personality of the project.
It was a cool thing to look at, but it didn't ever draw me in, and I will probably forget I saw it within a few weeks.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Nasferatu last night. It had some good moments. But, it was pretty much just eh.
It reminded me of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Willem DeFoe was hard for me to believe for his character at first.
But, he got better as it went along. I can't figure out for the life of me why they gave Nasferatu a moustache?
That was kind of strange. There were a few dragging parts as well. Visually, it was great. The script and story was like most Dracula movies though.
Rinse and repeat with different actors. The ending wasn't what I expected and I thought it was a let down and could have been done better.
I thought the best part of the movie was his twisted assistant. Especially when he was in the nut house. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Wolfs. 4/10 - formulaic anti-buddy "thriller" with Clooney and Pitt one-lining every bit of dialogue.
Carry On: 6/10 - Die Hard lite but fun enough, and I like Jason Bateman in most tv/movies.

“Late Night With The Devil” - 7/10
I really like this until about the last 10 minutes then it took a shit in my opinion.
“Woman of the Hour” 8/10
Out of work actress takes a spot on The Dating Game to try to improve her chances for roles.
Meanwhile, serial killer Rodney Alcala is bachelor #3.
I enjoyed this a lot

"Heart Eyes"
7/10.
decent Valentine's Day themed horror flick. a few jump scares. sufficient amount of gore.

The Substance 8/10 Great movie, however, it literally sinks into a massive amount of stupid unnecessary gore towards the end.
Great performance by Demi Moore, who deserves all the awards for this.

Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy
6/10
Okay enough action (popcorn flick), horror, love story with no loose ends at the end. Some predictable and some not.

Longlegs - 8/10.
Really liked this one. Cool indie vibe like It Follows (and same actress). Nicolas Cage was great as Longlegs. Definitely creepy and keeps you guessing.

The Watchers - 5/10. Like every M.Night Shamalan film , a 6 year old can figure out the plot twist after 10 minutes. But it was visually interesting enough.

Demon City 10/10 Fuuuuuuuuck this is such a great movie. On Netflix, check it out if you love John Wick/Starman type movies. A little bit of both . . .
And a sequel is already being made . . . I'm so there for it!

I watched about 30 seconds of this before jumping out of it. I wasn’t aware it was Japanese and the IMDB ratings were horrible. Maybe better if one watches the Japanese version with subtitles, but I didn’t feel like reading for 100 minutes.TravisBicklesMohawk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 5:09 am Demon City 10/10 Fuuuuuuuuck this is such a great movie.
