I rented Precious the other night. Thought you guys should know, it's pretty good. Sad, though. If you don't like sad, don't watch it.

The Brave One: 3.5/5 -

I got this from Netflix a few weeks ago but for some reason was never in the mood to watch it. Finally watched it last night. Better than I expected. Kinda far-fetched but still engaging.

Five Fingers: 1/5

Started watching it last night after The Brave One, got sleepy halfway through and finished watching it this morning. Horrible acting. How does Ryan Phillippe have an acting career? What a turd of a movie. The only redeeming quality was the twist. I knew there would be a twist but didn't really see that one coming.

Saw Ironman 2 last night. 'Salright I s'pose, though everyone was in agreement that it was lacking oomph. The bit at the end-where it's the final showdown with Mickey Rourke-I thought could have been better. Overall, 6.5/10.

Movies I saw over the past week

Big Fan 7/10 Some parts just dragged on in a bad way but it was a good movie. The "Eagles suck" part was sooo awesome.

Kickass 8/10 Really good movie, a lot better than I expected. Could have found a better kid than mclovin for Red mist. First time I thought Nick Cage did a great job since I was 13 and watched gone in sixty seconds.

Death at a funeral 6.5/10. Made me laugh, but wasnt that great. Danny Glover, Tracy morgan, and the Kid on Acid made the movie. Cant really buy Chris Rock and Martin Lawernce as authors so that whole part of the film was just silly

One Flew over the cuckoo's nest 10/10 Brillant fucking movie, Jack nicholson owned that bitch. Everyone in the movie gave a top notch preformance, I had never seen it before I was not let down.

Once upon a time in America 11/10 I always heard about this as being a great film, but jesus H macy this movie is as epic as it gets.

I watched Once again. It's just so cute. And I like the music. It's probably one of my favorite movies ever. I'm a big fan of cute.

Pan's Labyrinth - 10

Just wonderful. The girl playing Ofelia is great. The editing, the sound, all of it was great. This is the best Alice In Wonderland movie I've ever seen.

Terminator Salvation--7/10 Not horrible, not great, but I was fairly well entertained. I liked it better than T3, but it fell way short of the first two.

That movie is awesome. One of the only movies that I love that's heavy on special effects.

I went to see SHUTTER ISLAND yesterday at the $3 theater down here. It fucking sucked. There may have been a good movie in there somewhere but I didn't find it. Too fucking long, they could have easily cut out 30-40 minutes and it would have improved 100%. I was irritated when I left the theater. Leo DiCaprio could do better.

A Few Days in September "Quelques jours en septembre" - 7/10 - Anything with Juliette Binoche is worth watching but since I was preoccupied I'll have to watch again for a final say. She's a fantastic actress.

Miss March - 5/10 - Pretty stupid with a few chuckles, not a total waste.

The Proposal - 6/10 - Might slip into a guilty pleasure because there is nothing amazing about this light comedy but I still liked it. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds pulled it off even tho I'm not a huge fan of either.

Just saw the midnight opening of Iron Man 2, it was awesome! Robert Downey Jr is hilarious and the graphics are sick but the final battle with the bad guy was a bit too short and easy.

Exactly what I thought - the battle at the end was a bit of a let-down.

I saw 'Kynodontas' (Dogtooth) yesterday. Has anyone else seen this film? I missed the first 15mins of it, but I'd read up on it beforehand so it wasn't too difficult to follow.
This is a good summary of the film:

Three teenagers are confined to an isolated country estate that could very well be on another planet. The trio spend their days listening to endless homemade tapes that teach them a whole new vocabulary. Any word that comes from beyond their family abode is instantly assigned a new meaning. Hence 'the sea' refers to a large armchair and 'zombies' are little yellow flowers. Having invented a brother whom they claim to have ostracized for his disobedience, the uber-controlling parents terrorize their offspring into submission. The father is the only family member who can leave the manicured lawns of their self-inflicted exile, earning their keep by managing a nearby factory, while the only outsider allowed on the premises is his colleague Christina, who is paid to relieve the son of his male urges. Tired of these dutiful acts of carnality, Christina enlists the elder daughter for some girl-on-girl action, carelessly disturbing the domestic balance. Soon enough, sex has spread throughout the household like fire. Next stop: rebellion.

2 people walked out of the incest scene - that scene wasn't shot half-heartedly either. It was quite artily shot, but all the same..it's a strange film. I give it 8/10.

Straight Outta Brooklyn (1991). This was my third time watching it, and I think it is one of the best and most realistic "hood" movies out there. 8.8/10

YES. Not only dull, but for being such a visually oriented movie the effects should have been way better.

Trick r Treat - 7/10

This is my second time watching it. I did not like it the way I liked it when I first saw it. What I liked about the movie was how they were able to create four-stories and connect each of them while still maintaining coherence. The only thing that I hate about it was that it had the potential to be totally scary, yet, it didn't.

You mean the one with Gene Simmons and Fastway?

I love the scene in the car with the ghostly smoke fingers creeping up the girls shirt and turning her on before killing her, fucking hot bloody mess it was.

The Trick r Treat movie that had real ghosts not a greedy pseudo-monster capitalist dressed as a musician.

Which really means, no, it's a different movie.

REC - 10/10

I give it a ten for scaring the fuck out of me. Also, there's a boob scene in the end which is quite fantastic.
