Sanders would never win an election in this country. The mistake they made was pushing Biden aside. He's since stated that he wanted to run. His son dying was a convenient excuse after the party insisted on Clinton. I said years before that Hillary was unelectable and it was proven. She's not likable and is disingenous.
SexxAtraxxion wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 9:08 am Then only once it was too late did they pivot to Kamala Harris.
At the time I was hoping for an open primary, and in hindsight, it certainly looks like it might have generated more excitement. There is someone out there that could beat Trump and Kamala was certainly hamstrung in that she couldn't say anything bad about Biden's policies. Waiting nearly three years to address immigration was a massive miscalculation. It should have been done at the beginning of year two.
The Dem leadership was well aware Biden wasn't fit to run again and when it became apparent he had to go - identify politics dictated Harris step up.

Now, hHad the Dems offered say Josh Shapiro the top of the ticket they probably would be returning to the WH. However, the progressive left would never have gone for Shapiro.
They coronated Harris for 3 reasons - short timelines, money, and fear of upsetting black women. Shapiro was my pick. He'll win in 2028.

Harris is an average politician at best. The only reason she was chosen as VP is because Biden promised to pick a Black woman and considered a better choice than Stacey Abrams.

And the only reason she was picked to replace Joe B. is because identity politics demanded it.

Yes, she got to keep the Biden war chest but so what?

Money is the last thing the Dems had to worry about in 2024.

It was a risk that they weren't willing to take with only 100 days left to fundraise.

I hope that every Trump supporter gets exactly what's coming to them, that everything they voted for touches them personally, that they experience the effects of the policies they support to the greatest extent possible. May they receive the reward they deserve. Congratulations.

Surely, you don't believe the Democrats didn't mess up this cycle? And that's why you think I'm right wing - criticizing the Democrats. Biggest mistake was Sleepy Joe not getting out early enough. I also agree with Bernie Sanders comments.

Double-standard much? 1) That is precisely what MAGA has done for the past 4 years and then some. 2) It is obvious there is no "unifier" in Trump. He is only president for ~half the United States. 3) If shit hits the fan, no one on the right that is less than a billionaire is safe. The MAGA middle class will suffer along with every Liberal middle class. What part of that evades your intelligence?? You all think you've won the lottery and are set for life. I guess legislation evades you. For everyone's sake, I hope DJT does something right this time that benefits working-class America. But alas, the only person he helps is himself. Shit, he fucking outwardly shows disgust for his two older sons, and Baron is Melania's. Trump is not a father to that guy. To him, family is a PITA.

I really do despise the upside thinking of the left though so anything, even Orange Man, is better than ANYTHING they will EVER offer this country (see 100% of the Dem-controlled shitholes that litter the map for undeniable evidence). I mean, shadow government aside, they did half the country an early Christmas present with all the lib-tears (again). Politically, I've felt the same way since my 20s so Q didn't send me a tinfoil hat. Threads like this a great way to let you guys demonstrate how truly hateful, spiteful, bigoted, arrogant and naive all the "love lives here" types really are at heart.

Yes, sorry, I was actually responding to Wiseacre but messed up quoting. Nothing wrong with your statement at face value.

But to your question, I don't know how one can say definitively that the Democrats were "messing up this cycle" when there are massive amounts of lies and disinformation being peddled by a giant right wing media apparatus. Read that article I posted. I've been saying this for years that people are being absolutely brainwashed by these lying networks. The people that watch Fox News, Newsmax, One America News believe it with all their heart. FoxNews had to pay almost a billion dollars for their lies during the last election and they're the least extreme of the three I mentioned. This doesn't even take into account guys like Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, Alex Jones and a whole slew of others who push this stuff and have millions of people listening to them or reading their words online.

I watch David Pakman online, who's liberal and very very good but he says he can't get any left wing politicians to come on his show, but the right wing ones often do.

So if the Democrats are "messing up" it's in that they are getting killed in the new media landscape. They need to change, but t's going to be hard to combat the constant stream of lies the right is willing to push. And the has it down to a science. There's a chorus of lies and misinformation that gets pushed in concert with each other. The dummies buy into it hook, line and sinker.

Kamala was also hamstrung in this race in that she absolutely couldn't say anything bad about anything the administration did in the last four years. Even Biden if he had been running might have admitted he could have done somethings better, but for whatever reason she either refused to or couldn't. Her appearance on The View when she said she 'couldn't think of anything' she'd have done differently was bad.

People already say Jews contol the world, they aren't electing one President. Jews rank lower than blacks if you ever heard that Klan guy that used to be on Howard Stern.

Which poster is most likely to do this because Trump won? How's TenBenny doing?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... uluth.html

He also appeared increasingly concerned about the prospect of a Trump-led government.

'My mental health and the world can no longer peacefully coexist, and a lot of the reason is religion,' he said in July.

'I am terrified of religious zealots inflicting their misguided beliefs on me and my family. I have intrusive thoughts of being burned at the stake as a witch, or crucified on a burning cross.

'Having people actually believe that I or my child are Satan or, the anti-Christ or whatever their favorite color of boogie man they are afraid are this week.'

He had also accused Republicans of 'making it harder for women to leave' domestic violence relationships, writing 'Gilead here we come.'

Gilead is an apparent reference to the Handmaid's Tale, a dystopian republic which overthew the United States and stripped away women's rights.

He is a popular governor who likely would have carried PA along with the other Rust Belt states. I won't be suprised if he makes a run for the WH in 2028.

But if not Shaprio how about Roy Cooper?

Point is if the Dem leadership was going to pick someone to replace Biden - there were much better candidates than Harris who sunk like a rock in the Dem primary.

How do you think he won the popular vote? Because even Democrats don't want to be murdered in their beds by South American gangs. It's that simple fucktard.

I'm right wing? Where did that come from?

Are there any other posters on here that think I'm right wing?!?!

I voted for Claudia De La Cruz I think she's a bit more to the left than Kamala Harris.

I usually agree with the political things you say Neon, and I don't believe I've challenged you on anything you've said, so maybe you have me mixed up with someone else?

Surely, you don't believe the Democrats didn't mess up this cycle? And that's why you think I'm right wing - criticizing the Democrats. Biggest mistake was Sleepy Joe not getting out early enough. I also agree with Bernie Sanders comments.

Ok, makes sense you had the wrong person.

I do agree it would be tough for Kamala to go against the last 4 years when she was a part of it. I do think if Biden had got out earlier, and the Dems had primaries, and no one held out just to let Kamala win, she would have been no where near the nomination. Saying they messed up, isn't just that the campaign made mistakes, its that Kamala was the nominee at all. I felt like they were hanging their hat on abortion, and that backfired badly. I think Gaza also hurt them. They spent a ton of money and pretty much wasted it seeing how badly they lost. Makes you wonder whether they'd have been better off letting Trump win, while spending all the money on house and senate to at least have something. Or the other way around.

On a side note, looking at the numbers is interesting. Trump has got a little more votes than he got last time. Kamala got 11 million less than Biden. So its not necessarily a ton of people switched, even though the media will say they did, its that a ton didn't show up.
