This was a fun zombie movie. Not as good as Zombieland, as mentioned above, but still it had plenty of laughs and funny gore.
You've got to be kidding me. Zombieland sucked whilst Shaun of the Dead was brilliant.

Both were pretty awesome, but SOTD is destined to be a classic.

Dog Town and Z-Boys - I'd seen it before. Mostly I just put it on while I was surfing the web and doing some work. I don't know why I like it. I don't even skate a little.

Crips and Bloods: Made in America - Interesting. It was a history lesson. I did roll my eyes and make wanking motions during the "women crying over killed boys" montage. Gimme a break.

Dark City - This movie sucks balls. BALLS! And Jennifer Connelly totally has a mustache in it.

Murderball - It was ok. Killed time. Didn't really care about any of the dudes in it or anything. Didn't really learn anything either.

Went to the premiere of 2 films I'm in - a short film and a longer feature length film.

The first, 'Lonely Girl' was the short film. It really held it's own against the other, longer film--not that it was ever intended to be a competition between the two, but it was just very well done. My 2 nieces were in it and it turns out the camera loves them! Especially the younger one, which is great. A solid 9/10 for that film. The director just needed to quit with all the unnecessary black fade-outs.

The other one, which...I don't really want to share the title on here 'cos I believe there is a trailer for it on youtube--which is beyone embarassing...featured myself plus a whole heap of other people and special effects. It was better than I imagined it would be. I think the director went overboard a bit with the shadows/contrast of the film - it was literally a bit dark in places. There were some bits that needed tweaking--one of the montage scenes was a bit long and the sound was a bit iffy in places. But, other than that - great! Especially considering the budget was £0. 7.5/10.

Let Me In. 4.5 out of 5 - only because I wanted more history on the girl. Great movie. Liked it so much I rented the original, Let The Right One In - actually not as good as the remake, IMO. 3 out of 5 for that one.

I liked Nemesis. Clever plot, cool villain. Definitely better than the 2009 movie.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

18 dead people later I'm wondering how I ever got away with seeing this movie when I was eight years old...surely my mom couldn't have known this had been rented.

9/10 it's very realistic and surreal.

Murder-Set-Pieces -3/10

it's writer/director would have you believe it's right up there with Hostel or any of the other "torture porn" releases in the past few years. my friends on another forum kept saying how bad it was. they were right. this pile of shit sucked so bad it caused a sinkhole across town at charlotte motor speedway. and as much as i disliked Hostel, this movie made it look like an Oscar winner.

and poor Tony Todd...is there a movie he won't do? he's such a nice guy but damn he's been in some seriously lousy movies.

Rampage - 4/5

Good God! What a fucked up movie. The moral implications aside, I thought it was shot very well and the characters were spot-on with their performances. The main character, Bill Williamson, played by Brendan Fletcher was especially good. I was shocked at the premeditation of his actions and the apparent planning he put into his rampage. This wasn't a situation where a dude just snapped. This shit was thought out. Oh, and the bingo hall scene was tense and funny at the same time.

Highly recommended if you like gratuitous violence, but not for the squeamish.

The Elephant Man - Kinda tearjerky for my tastes, but it was ok.

Jar City - Crime thriller from Iceland. Guy is murdered, cops unravel the story. It was alright as far as crime thrillers from Iceland go.

Mother - Korean drama. Retarded kid gets accused of murder. His mom goes around trying to prove him innocent. I liked it. TOO LONG.

ThanksKilling - Oh man.

June 9 7.5/10 a blatant Blair Witch ripoff. it doesn't even try to hide it. and quite honestly, i though it was a much better movie than Blair Witch. 5 teens in a small Ohio town armed with a video camera end up in a eerie small town near their own. i think the reason it worked so well was because not a single person in the cast is a "name". they actually are Ohio teenagers and 20-somethings. there are a few moderately creepy things earlier in the movie but at the 48 minute mark it really cranked it up. pretty decent effects too, for a movie with probably a next to nothing budget. keep watching through the credits - even more fun and games with the good folks of Boston Mills, Ohio.

Shattered Lives 4/10 i had HUGE hopes for this one. less than two minutes in and we have guts on the floor. not just blood, mind you, but an actual evisceration in the living room! for the next few minutes we get some rather impressive kills. and then it had to wonder off into Donnie Darko territory, except with severely fucked up clowns instead of a rabbit. if clowns creep you out, stay away from this one. from there it moves to the Lifetime Movie of the Week neighborhood, then wraps everything up in a nice predictable package. yawn.

The Crazies (2009) 6/10 predictable from start to finish. the only reason i gave it a 6 instead of a 5 is Timothy Olyphant. i would watch him read the phone book. and stuff blows up pretty good, that's always worth a point or two.

Seriously Twisted 7/10 borrowing from the Lifetime formula, man and wife accidentally kill a young girl. 4 years later they think someone has found out. and while in some spots it's easy to see where it's going, damned if it isn't a lot of fun getting there!

Yeah Blair Witch really put me off with that all-star cast of famous actors.
let me rephrase that then. not a single person in June 9 is "Hollywood". one person has a short film (by June 9's director) to their credit, and that's it. does that work a little better for you, skippy?

Thanks to the cheesy 80s movies thread, rewatched Stone Cold for the first time in forever. I had forgotten how retardedly entertaining that flick is.

William Forsythe is the best after being blown up in a head on collision and sayin, "Fuck you, cop" and then dying.

The Social Network: 9/10. Great acting, great writing (I expect nothing less from Sorkin, minus that Studio 60 incident), great directing (ditto for Fincher). They managed to make a recent, publicized story we know compelling (y'know, by extensive dramatization, but shhh), in which no one comes off particularly well. Good stuff.

The Expendables 6.8/10

I just felt like it took awhile to get going, and it could have been a little more badass. It was still fun, and had it's moments though. Jason Stratham, Sly Stallone, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, and Mickey Rourke were good in it.
