Crush (2013) - 8/10
This one had a twist that I didn't see coming, so I give it an 8.

Flight 8.5/10
Denzel rules! It was kinda like "Leaving Las Vegas in the air" but Denzel's character was much more charismatic than Cages...the movie was none-the-less depressing. All though there was a glimmer of hope at the end.

Pretty much this.TenBenny wrote:"Evil Dead" (remake) - 6/10
Solid flick, gets really amped up and nasty in the last 20 minutes or so. None of the cast matches the charisma of Bruce Campbell, but then again it's more of a somber, troubled vibe as opposed to the weekend of fun angle that led the characters to the cabin in the original. The director, Fede Alvarez, used mostly practical effects and utilizes some of Raimi's original visual flourishes and shots. It's not a classic, but it's not a pointless remake either.
Stay for the tag after the credits.
Just got home from seeing it. It was gory and entertaining but not particularly scary, IMO. I guess I'm mostly beyond getting scared by movies. The ending wasn't what I was expecting but it was pretty good.

It's that I thought the killings in the Super 8 were better than the present day story line. I'm picky with horror! Doesn't mean I didn't buy the damned thing! lolIndy_Rob wrote:Seriously?? The Collection 8/10 John "Jigsaw" Kramer's got nothing on this guy as far as traps go. and unlike Jigsaw, he's not even remotely interested in giving anyone a chance to redeem themselves...he's all about the body count.

Olympus Has Fallen - 5/10. It tried so hard to be Die Hard (with a Secret Service agent inside and the White House being taken over), but had a pretty amateurish script and too-long running time combined with a lackluster performance by Morgan Freeman and unfortunately Gerard Butler can't rattle off a one-liner like Bruce Willis.

Hilde (2009) - 9/10. One of the best biopics I've seen. It's about the life of actress and singer Hildegard Knef (or "Hildegarde Neff" or however she was billed in America). It's in both German and English, as the setting goes back and forth between Berlin and Hollywood, so maybe that's annoying if you're allergic to subtitles, but I'd recommend it to anyone with a heart and some post world war nostalgia. I can't believe Heike Makatsch (you might know her from fucking Love, Actually) turned into an actual actress.

If you like docs. Or like hockey, fighting or a good story of addiction struggles. This was a very good film about former Hab,Ranger and Bruin Chris Nilan. I'd give it an 8.5 / 10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv9UAmA0RJA

I haven't seen this yet. Debating if I should or wait to rent it.
Is it me, or does this sound like this was the rejected script that was originally pitched as the fifth Die Hard sequel?

Le journal d'une femme de chambre (Diary of a Chambermaid) - 6/10. Pretty straight for a Luis Buñuel movie and openly political, but it's old enough that Jeanne Moreau still looked pretty nice. It's chock-full of sexual harassment and racism, and some murder/rape too, which is always a plus.
