There was a big thread on Reddit in recent days where people were giving long and serious answers about why they'd vote for Donnie. Unfortunately it came down to the usual bullshit and complete cognitive dissonance:

He's a great businessman - yeah, so great that he couldn't keep a casino in tje black (3 times!) and he has a long reputation of plain not paying contractors.
He's tough on iillegal mmigration - except he never Built That Wall and he sabotaged a bipartisan bill that would have introduced stronger controls.
His Supreme Ct acolytes were right to veto Roe; it should be States Rights - as a non-Murican I don't fully get this, but I think it's s saying that if you ive in a backward, religious, conservative state and you get raped or might die due to fetal abnormalities, that's just your tough shit or it's what Jesus wanted for your life.
He's a hard worker - except on the 100 golf games a year.
He's more trustworthy -

The main reasons were "I made more money than now" and "he's going to bring the jobs back". So these arch capitalists think the government should interfere in the economy? And they really think that big business is going to reopen factories across the rust belt, with unionised workers on high salaries, when they can pay some Vietnamese a bowl of rice a day, absorb the transport costs and still make more money? (Please don't bother responding about tarriffs).
