The King's Speech (2010)

8.5/10

Pretty good, even if they did take some creative liberty with the timeline.

Plus...Colin Firth. Enough said.

I'll go ahead and say the opposite about An American Werewolf in Paris. That movie was terrible compared to London. Or Wolfen or The Howling. Or even Silver Bullet.

I've watched Manhunter a few times recently on EPIX Drive In and agree. Very cool movie. Tom Noonan is great in it. I kept thinking it was shot like an R Rayed version of Miami Vice then saw who directed it. Figures.

Maze Runner- 6.8/10

Pretty decent Lord Of The Flies meets Hunger Games type flick.

I would have rated it higher, but the ending was pretty lame.

The action scenes were too fast as well, hard to follow who was getting attacked.

I went in thinking it was a kids fluffy type movie, it wasn't.

Young Lions - 8/10 Great cast, Marlon Brando, Monty Clift, and Dean Martin, so this HAD to be good. Brando's bleached hair and german accent were spot-on. Not a fan of war movies, but this focused more on the soldiers and their personal lives as opposed to straight up battle. Good movie!

The English Teacher (2013) - 3/10. Julianne Moore snoozefest. She was not at all hot in it and I couldn't even tell what it was supposed to be about.

Mysterious Skin (2004) - 7/10. Intense adaptation of a Scott Heim novel about two victims of a pedophiliac little league coach. Good movie, but not exactly enjoyable.

This movie is long. Very, very long. So long in fact that I gave up hope that it would ever end and just turned it off.

Monument Ave.

8/10. Cool indie flick from around 1998/99 starring Denis Leary when he was a real badass. I liked the Boston setting and the crime theme. Check it out on Netflix.

Hey I think I do as well!
You're both high.... with all due respect!
But what do I know, I still think Smokey and the Bandit 3 was much better than Smokey and the Bandit 2.

I remember trying to DVR the original when it was listed on TV recently and when I found out they mixed it up with the sequel, I got very angry!!!
Was there anything cooler than the dream within a dream sequence?

The Equalizer: 6/10
Saw this the same week I saw Walk Among the Tombstones.
I thought Walk was better giving it a 7.5.
The weird thing is seeing some of the same actors in both movies.

G.I Blues(1960 Elvis Presley,Juliet Prowse,Robert Ivers) 7/10

i like a bunch of his movies.
he really had it goin' on,the looks, the voice,i also think he's a good actor.
always plays a cool character.
he's in the army and when he gets out he wants to open a night club in oklahoma where he's from.
he's also bet his buddies he can charm a pretty cabaret dancer.

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka(1988 Keenen Ivory Wayans,Bernie Casey,Antonio Fargas) 7/10

hadn't watched this in a while so i recorded it on dvr on dish network.
always thought this was a funny movie.
alot of famous actors in here.
definitely worth watchin'.

Leo (2002) - 8/10. Great, original drama with allusions to Joyce's Ulysses. Elisabeth Shue and the other lead (who's a guy and hence undeserving of name recognition) are awesome, and Dennis Hopper is in his element playing a Frank Booth throwback psycho asshole.

The Devil's 8 - 7/10. Starring Fabian.

It's about a group of escaped convicts recruited by the FBI to help catch moonshiners.

"Gone Girl" - 9/10

Great directing, writing, and acting (and Reznor/Ross score). Rosamund Pike might get an Oscar nomination for this and Ben Affleck gives one of his best performances. Fincher is the man. 'nuff said.

"A Walk Among the Tombstones" - 8/10

Really engaging. Tight, punchy and gritty. I like seeing Liam Neeson in this kind of tough guy role more than in the "Non-Stop"/"Taken" kind of movies (although the first "Taken" was cool).

"The Zero Theorem" - 5/10

I love Gilliam's work. but I'm honestly not sure what this movie is about or what to make of it. Always like watching Christophe Waltz though.

Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction. 3/10.

Just terrible. I really enjoyed the 1st 3 films. It's Michael Bay so you can expect to spend a couple of hours watching shit blow up. Sad thing is I really think Bay was trying to make a character piece for a change and it failed on almost every level.

Ravenous - perfect mix of cannibalism and humor. Even has a great performance from that pedo from Ferris Beuller. Renton Begby is perfectly cast. 8/10

Humanoids From The Deep - re-reviewed with a higher score. Plenty of big ol American boobs and bush. Typically awesome bad Roger Corman special effects. A B-movie lovers wet dream. Recommended. 7.75/10

The Ghost and the Darkness - skinny Val was great. Interestingly adventurous amongst some boring tedious dialogue. Not bad overall (and good to see that Val got skinny again in recent times) - 7/10

This. And Fincher decided to change the book's ending, so fuck him.

And nobody wants to see Afleck's cock, umkay.

I've edited my post because I forgot to give a major rave about the casting and acting in the film. It was friggin' good. I'm a huge fan of the book and had reservations seeing the film anyway, and it was very aggravating seeing some major points in the story be left out especially the white-washing of Amy. But what director does not do that anyway?
