I've edited my post because I forgot to give a major rave about the casting and acting in the film. It was friggin' good. I'm a huge fan of the book and had reservations seeing the film anyway, and it was very aggravating seeing some major points in the story be left out especially the white-washing of Amy. But what director does not do that anyway?

Fuck that book and fuck that movie. They both ended equally as shitty. So much potential the first half then it completely pancaked. The writer of that book completely wrote herself into a corner.

Fantastic documentary. The son of Pablo tells the story how he personally had to escape
Columbia to save his own life.
The kid changed his name. He and his mother fled and tried never to look back.
Ulimately the son reached out to sons of fathers that Pablo had killed.

Took a lot of guts for the kid to deciide against following his fathers footsteps and take a shot
at the Drug Trafficking world for himself.

Weird movie about a boy with a shitty life sort of bonding with a heavy metal squatter. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is totally over the top in this. He supposedly modeled his character after Cliff Burton, and the soundtrack is nothing but Cliff-era Metallica with a little bit of Motörhead.

That Evening Sun- 7/10. Most of that for Hal Holbrook alone. Lots open to interpretation with this one. Not sure the screenwriter had an idea of all the details he was omitting, though.
