Man, is that movie intense!

A Room with a View - 7/10

Daniel Day-Lewis was kinda irritating, but Helena Bonham Carter was great. Really loved the old-country setting.

No kidding. The sustained tension in a few of those scenes (like the first one) is incredible.

The scene where the main dude was talking to his wife about him going back was kinda heart-wrenching too.

Dead Poet's Society - 3/10

As a student of literature, I hate this movie. First, I hate carpe diem, because it makes one do stupid things. Also, I hate it because of the over-importance of Romanticism. Romanticism is overrated. Fuck this movie. The chick was kinda pretty though, and I was kinda happy that that faggy dude who has played a role in that Shakespeare drama killed himself. Macabre, but the little fuck deserved it. :D

ETA: Robin Williams was good in that movie, but not that good. Just kinda fitting for his role.

500 Days of Summer

This was the best movie I've seen this year by far. It would be hard for this movie to NOT connect with someone on some sort of level.

Generally, I love chick-flicks, but this is a weak-flick. It's like comedy without the funny, romance without the emotion.

Again, no kidding. The whole thing was just really well done. Easily one of my favorites this year.

Part of me really wants to see this, and part of me doesn't. Usually the screeners we get are decent, but I really fear I'm going to hate this movie so it's just sitting on the shelf waiting.

It's Complicated - 6.6/10. It's supposed to be more than just a chick-flick, but it's not really good enough to warrant the praise it's getting.

A Clockwork Orange - 15/10. One of the greatest movies ever made. Kubrick's best movie IMO. How Malcolm McDowell didn't even get nominated for an Oscar is a travesty.

Extract - Kinda different to see Mike Judge make something that isn't a straight up comedy. There's some kinda serious stuff in this one, but there's still some funny parts. Not nearly as good as his other films, but it's worth a watch. Ben Affleck is actually one of the better parts of the movie which shocks me to say it because I usually can't stand the guy.

I too watched Extract recently.

Jason Bateman carried the entire movie. He's pretty much doing the Michael Bluth thing in this movie so Arrested fans like me will like that. The movie as a whole is just not very good. It's okay, I guess. There's a lot going on and none of it really fits into a cohesive plot.

Best way to sum it up: Gene Simmons is one of the best things about this movie. And that's fucked up.

4.5/10

YPF 7/10

I saw it the other nite. It shows these 5 couples over one encounter. They all hookup and hilarity ensues.

Okay that doesn't sound like much, but I thought it was pretty funny in a lot of parts. So if you're in bed, sick, bored, drinking cold teas and it's on Showtime. Check it out. It's pretty funny.

Plus Carly Pope is in it and she's Hot. As. Fuck. Enough to move up it's raking an 8 out of 10.

He's Just Not That Into You - 4/10? - 3/10? - 2/10?

Am I missing something here? Chick only flick? In confession I've yet to set down and watch the entire movie and I've certainly tried but after 10 minutes I'm reaching for the remote.

With all the actors and eye candy, can it really be that fucking boring? I believe yes, yes it can.

This movie is just fucki'n awesome! It's Christmas here already, and we were all kind of buzzed so we decided to watch this.

Bruce Lee, damn, he rules. This is probably the best James Bond movie without fuckin' James Bond.

I agree. It's getting a ton of praise now and hopefully it'll get a few nominations. It's definitely one of the best movies I saw this year.

Then what was it that they blew up at the end of the movie? I thought it was the Skynet headquarters.

I watched Keep the River on Your Right. It's the documentary Bridget was talking about. The New York resident who became a cannibal/headhunter . It was wild, two thumbs up, although seeing the old white dude with his former headhunter man lover was odd. No judgment.
