Monster Camp--6/10 Entertaining documentary about these dorks playing a Live Action Roleplaying Game. Not as good or as in-depth as Darkon, which was basically on the same subject.

A Life Without Pain--6/10 Another doc about three children from different parts of the world who have a disorder that doesn't allow them to feel physical pain. At first it sounds like that would be a cool super-power to have, but it actually sucks for these kids. One little girl had to have her teeth removed as they grew in because she would keep chewing on her lip, and she has to wear goggles all the time because she kept sticking her fingers in her eyes as an infant.

Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter--Depending on your tastes, it's either 7/10 or 0/10. It is what it is. If you like stupid shit, you'll chuckle. If you have no use for no-budget C-movies, then don't bother. Personally I enjoyed it, as it reminded me of being a teenager and laughing my ass off at anything Troma shat out on home video.

Broken--4/10 Some gruesome scenes, but overall pretty dull. It's clear they were going for realism, but there were just too many times when the woman could have escaped or killed her tormentor and didn't take advantage.

Just watched "Homegrown".

Pretty much awesome as fuck. And it has Lithgow. Any movie with Lithgow in it immediately rates as cool.

An INCREDIBLY solid 9/10.

Tried watching this once before, and didn't get too far through it because it was way late and got too sleepy. So I gave it another try last night. For a vampire film, I think I'd rank it up there with the better ones I've seen. Really liked how the vampires looked in this.


Away We Go

I didn't know what to expect from this, but I'm glad it was actually pretty funny. The different families they meet, some absolutely insane, some just flat out sad, it was just a well put together movie and everyone did a fantastic job. Didn't like it as good as 500 Days of Summer, but it's up there pretty close.

I've watched this movie many times already and it doesn't get old. There's just too many things happening that it just sucks you in the story.

It's like you root for different characters everytime you watch it. Oskar, the budding sociopath is really interesting, he even displays masochistic traits, and he's just a child.

Funny Games (2007) 2/10--What a pretentious piece of shit. It could ave been a really good thriller/horror flick OR a quirky and snide indictment of said movies. It failed on both counts. Naomi Watts ran around in her underwear for half the movie, which is why it got a 2 out of 10.

Just saw The Road last night. I had some problems with the script; I got the feeling that the screenwriter was pressured to give the female character more screen time. But the acting was good and I think the overall message of the book was conveyed. Still, if I had a choice, I'd rather curl up with the novel.

Session 9 4/10 I know BloodyDisgusting.com rated it one of the top 20 horror films of the decade but it did nothing for me. Left me a tad confused and feeling stupid for not seeing the supposed brilliance of the film.

Paranormal Activity 9/10 Loved it!! Scared the shit out of me! No big budget, no special effects, two unknown actors and for once in a long time left me with that empty, hopeless and terrified feeling that a good horror film gives you.

I just got done watchin' Beer League 8/10.

I was actually pretty funny, it's got that Artie Lange guy and Karate Kid. It made me laugh. Don't go rent it or anything, but if it's on cable and it's almost 2a and your still up, watch it. Laugh, be happy.
