I agree. Thought it was really over rated. Did not deserve the Academy Award over Inglourious Basterds.Tommy wrote:Machado wrote:Hurtlocker(finally after a long delay)

The movie won awards for a legit reason.
Among the best "war time/military" movies of all time.
Most predictable war movie I've ever seen.
The whole movie is "Gee, I wonder which character is going to....."
Very let down by that movie.

Hot Fuzz - 8.5/10
Not as good as Paul but still a funny film with the Brits trying to do a big budget action/buddy film.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are magical on screen together.

A little boring at times.
Watched Breakdown last night. With Kurt Russell and KAthleen Quinlan.
AWESOME!
Kurt used to be so hot..
Also watched Burlesque with Christina Aquilara and Cher.....GREAT soundtrack and a very sexy movie. Typical storyline of a girl moving to LA to become a dancer/singer.
Eric Dane and Xtrina's roommate were a very good addition to the movie I must say...shit...I was horny throughout.
Id recommend this...even for the guys...lots of half naked chicks prancing around on stage.....
As for the other film, as I've said before, they should have called it: Don't be afraid of the Suck, because it sucked. The house was cool, but that was about it. Really lame monsters that were punt-able.
...but yeah, Breakdown is a good one.
Breakdown is riveting from the very beginning....as soon as their car breaks down, its on, and it doesnt stop.
The truck scene at the very end was pretty intense.

A Lonely Place to Die. Even Melissa Georges fairly nice face couldn't save this stinker. 4/10
Bellflower - I turned it off after 30 minutes. The only good thing about it was the car that had an inbuilt whiskey dispenser. Plus, Lord Humongous from Mad Max 2 was mentioned. 3/10
Bucketlist - Watched it for the 3rd time. Still gets a 10/10
The Road - 8/10

Hangover 2 was a copy-and-paste job. They even had the exact same fucking scene with the, "We'll look at these pictures once and then never again" thing, only this time one of the dudes was Asian!

Blind bought this one and watched it last night. All I can say is wow... what a movie. Dennis Hopper probably plays the best psycho that's ever been in a film.

Split Second. (1992). 4/10. Rutger Hauer is my favorite and he can make the worst movie watchable, but this one really sucks. It's one of those funny movies where 2008 is "the future"...it's also about an alien and I probably saw 2 seconds of the alien in the first hour.

Macao - 7/10. Jane Russell, Robert Mitchum.
A traveling night club singer (Jane Russell) gets hired by an American expatriate who runs a casino in Macao and specializes in converting stolen jewelry into cash. Complications ensue when one of her traveling companions turns out to be a cop (Robert Mitchum).
The Major And The Minor - 7/10. Ginger Rogers. Ray Milland, and featuring Ginger's mom, Lela.
A frustrated city girl (Rogers) decides to disguise herself as a youngster in order to get a cheaper train ticket home. But little "Sue Sue" finds herself in a whole heap of grown-up trouble when she hides out in a compartment with handsome Major Kirby (Milland) and he insists on taking her to his military academy after the train is stalled.

Tree of Life:
Not sure where to start on this one. Terrence Mallick films most definitely are not for the average movie fan... especially this one. But first off, this was a beautiful LOOKING film, especially on blu-ray. Some great shots and nice sequences of space, volcanoes erupting and random dinosaur scenes... yeah. But I just know there's some random people out there that watched this on a whim and were left wondering what exactly they just spent 2 hours and 15 minutes watching. I honestly don't know if I liked this or not after I watched it. Kinda crazy to say, but I know it's sure be hard to sit through it again.
Up next...
Blowout:
Bought this one a while back and I've put off watching it for quite a while. But I got around to it last night and absolutely loved it. The story was very interesting and I'm pretty surprised they haven't tried to remake it already, since they've done every other film. One of John Travolta's best films IMO and John Lithgow was just downright creepy.

Meet Dave - this is one of those films thats so bad its good. It has Eddie Murphy being ridiculous. I like it, the first half especially. I first watched this when stoned and it was amazing, but on repeated viewing while sober its still entertaining. 8 out of 10.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes - I don't really care about apes. In fact they kind of piss me off. The story was okay, some interesting parts but a little too predictable for my liking. Sets up for a sequel nicely. I'll give this 6 out of 10 and ignore my bias against apes.
Captain America - not very good at all. The best thing was probably the end with the set up for the Avengers. The love angle was weak. Hugo Weaving was surprisingly disappointing. The guy playing Captain America was okay I guess. Tommy Lee Jones was the only redeeming factor. 4 out of 10.
Hangover 2 - worse than the first one. A couple of laughs here and there, but on the whole very weak. 4 out of 10
The Inbetweeners movie - I love the first season of this series. The other seasons were hit and miss for me and so was the film. The dance scene was amazing though. Couldn't stop laughing at that. 6 out of 10.
