I still remember seeing this at the movies opening weekend with one of my friends, who wasn't really keen on seeing a Bruce Willis movie in the first place, I might ad.JRA wrote:Die Hard
Really is there any other grade to give this other than 10?
The movie ends, we get up and walk out to the car not saying a single word.
We hop in the car, shut the doors and at the same time say something to the effect of:
"That may have been the greatest fucking movie I have ever seen."
Its still among my all-time top three.

Total Recall - 8/10.
Based on the reviews, a lot of people aren't impressed with this movie. But I thought it rocked. Jam packed with action, cast PERFECTLY, a soundtrack that really intensified the various moods of the film, and a gorgeous, well-imagined CGI world. I will admit it didn't have as much personality as the original (that endearing Verhoeven corniness), but was a more serious take on the story, which was cool in a different way.
P.S. Kate Beckinsale is FIERCE!

A Bucket of Blood (1959) - 7/10. Cool hipster satire by Roger Corman about an idiot sculptor using cadavers. The beatnik ranting is hilarious.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Today, I saw:
The new Total Recall - 8/10. Loved it. Pretty much all action, with a good updated Blade Runner type of scenery/back drop. I thought the SFX were great. There was nobody else in the theater.
The new Bourne movie - 2/10. Incredibly boring, took way too long to get exciting and even longer to make any sense. Awful addition to the series. Theater was packed out. They should have all gone to see Total Recall.

Piranha 3DD: 5/10
After loving the last one I had high hopes which this piece of crap dashed to bits. Ugly cast. Shit plot. Weak gore. Not even The Hoff could save it.
My next chance for a fun movie? Hatchet 3.

I'm crossing my fingers that part 3 lives up to the first two, and that they don't fuck it up like what happened with Feast.Fletch wrote:Hatchet 2 had some cool, interesting kills.

Wanderlust: 3.5/5
I've liked Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models and pretty much everything else David Wain has put out and this one was no exception. The scene with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston while one the long car ride cracked me up to no end and I just lost it with the random bits of them singing along to "Black Water" by the Doobie Brothers.
