The Dictator - 6. A few laughs here and there, but no where near as funny as Borat was.

Jesus how can you not see these two as fun entertainment? Especially the latter?LillianRoxyFA wrote:

Fun as a sci-fi action flick. I think they wasted the whole Khan concept a bit.
The Wild Bunch: 4/10
Just didn't get the whole thing. Filmed in a pulp style but the story is convoluted and I didn't care about any of the characters. A classic that fizzled for me.

No shit. The opening gun fight is a lesson in editing. My hell, even the editing is violent.Grendel wrote:You're crazy. That movie ruled.LillianRoxyFA wrote: The Wild Bunch: 4/10

Star Trek Into the Darkness was 'fun', but 7 out of 10 is the right score imo.johnk5150 wrote:Jesus how can you not see these two as fun entertainment? Especially the latter?LillianRoxyFA wrote:

Cottage Country (2013) - 6/10. Dark, horror-ish comedy with Tyler Labine. Doesn't come close to shit like Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, partly because Malin Akerman is hot in it, but less so than Katrina Bowden - it's also just not really funny.
127 Hours (2010) - 4/10. Both Danny Boyle and James Franco have done some really cool shit, but this is pretty terrible. It's about this dude who cut his arm off after getting stuck under a rock at Arches National Park a few years ago. Some bitch was hot in it for like ten seconds but it didn't even matter.

Okay, "a bunch" was a bit of an exaggeration, but I really liked Howl. And you can't ignore his epic role as Bar Guy #1 in The Wicker Man!
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
They just confirmed a second one is in the works. Tyler Labine claimed “We’ll never make a shitty sequel,” so I'm hopeful they pull it off right. The original is all sorts of awesome.SebastianLeeDanzig wrote:Doesn't come close to shit like Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Franco got an Oscar nod for best actor. He must have done something right.

Born To Win (1971) - 5/10. Had high hopes for this supposed dope flick with George Segal, Karen Black and Robert De Niro, but I was bored as hell. Didn't seem authentic at any point. Maybe I'm just too young to get it.
Cool, I'd definitely watch that. Can't really imagine where a sequel would go, but who cares...caroline wrote:They just confirmed a second one is in the works. Tyler Labine claimed “We’ll never make a shitty sequel,” so I'm hopeful they pull it off right. The original is all sorts of awesome.
Really? I have nothing against the guy normally, but in this I didn't think he was especially good.TravisBicklesMohawk wrote:Franco got an Oscar nod for best actor. He must have done something right.

Angel Heart - an example of a noir-ish film that has aged well and not only because of the lovely Huxtable poontang. Well written, suspenseful enough to stay interesting. Excellent devil portrayed by DeNiro and Mickeys original face. Voodoo, gore and chickens. All around excellent. 9/10

The Man With The Golden Gun - 4/5
Roger Moore's second outing as 007. Still holds up. Granted Moore played the role mainly for the laughs but I enjoy watching him as Bond. Christopher Lee steals every scene he is in though. Scaramanga was bad-ass.

One Touch Of Venus - 7/10.
Ava Gardner plays Venus, the goddess of love who comes down to earth (I'm still not sure why) and falls in love with a department store window dresser.

I always thought the Man With the Golden Gun was the lamest Bond movie out of the Roger Moore era.puzzleface wrote:The Man With The Golden Gun - 4/5

I think my favorite scene was when he threatened to break Maud Adams arm.
It was outta character for the Moore-ish Bond, but still baddass!
And do I want to know what really happens at the Bottom's Up club?

Anna (2013) 8/10
It did move a little slow... but I admit, I did not figure it out until it was "happening"... a welcome change from most thriller flicks as of late.

Captain America:The Winder Solider
10/10
Given it more of a political thriller/Jason Bourne feel was perfect. Cap is a character who can easily become a corny hokey mess.
Really glad they went in this direction.

Cowboys and Aliens - first 30 minutes were good, and then it just went downhill quick. Got really bored of it and started watching porn instead. 4 out of 10.

WHY????????????
I'm not sure if my dislike stems from it not being the story I was taught in yarmulke-land or just the story itself.. but I didn't think I was going to get through it.

There is a cool 30 minute monster movie hidden inside this attempt at human drama. Build-up took too long for me. Monster movies should be fun. Why is this so hard to figure out?

It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.
