Pumpkinhead (1988) - this one never gets old. Lance has made quite a few misses in the latter years of his career but this was back when he was on a roll - 8/10

He gets overlooked for Millennium, IMO. I think that was his finest hour.

What a great show that was/is. He's got a book that's either out or will be out soon called Not Bad For a Human - gotta pick that up sometime. My fav Lance role is a bit out of the ordinary, but it was when he played the lead biker baddie to Bosworths undercover cop in Stone Cold. That one, Jennifer 8 and Color of Night I can watch anytime, if only just for him.LouDoo wrote:Fletch wrote:Pumpkinhead (1988) - this one never gets old. In the recent 'Between Two Ferns' with Zach Galifianakis, he interviews Brad Pitt and calls the movie 'Furry'.

The Seventh Seal. 10/10. I've seen it so many times, and it never loses it's greatness. Bergman was a fucking genius. Definitely in my top three directors of all time.

I saw that couple of days ago, pretty spot on.SebastianLeeDanzig wrote:Rock of Ages - 3/10. That's by far the shittiest rock movie I've ever seen. I will now consider Rock Star a masterpiece. Those "musical" scenes . . . fucking hell, that shit leaves me speechless. I've never seen Glee, but I imagine it to look exactly like that.
Yesterday I watched Call Girl. Based on a (tru) story where Swedish teen ends up as prostitute to Swedish politicians. As much a story of corruption than prostitution. Not with a happy ending either. 8/10

Palo Alto (2013) - 3/10. Completely pointless teen angst shit by the youngest Coppola bitch. It's shit without being annoying is the nicest way of describing it.
Halloween H20 (1998) - 5/10. I don't even remember which parts I've seen in the past except for the first, so I can't compare it, but it's pretty boring.

Left Behind (2014). I wasn't sure a big budget remake movie could be worse than the Kirk Cameron movie. It was. This isn't the story of the book. Parts of it are right, but most of it wasn't. Nic Cage can't save it, and I'd bet the sequels are cancelled too. 3/10.

Chef - 8/10. The only thing that makes no sense is Leguizamo leaving his decent sous chef gig and flying to Miami to join Favreau on the food truck in Miami for no money. Other than that it's a pretty accurate depiction of what life in the service industry is like. Especially how fucked up a lot of our relationships are.
Life of Crime. I actually liked Jennifer Aniston for her Hotrible Bosses role. She was okay in this. The two kidnappers are pretty interesting characters. It's sitting at 66% with the critics but only 40% with the users. I dig it. 7/10.

The House of the Devil (2009) - 8/10.
This was unexpectedly great. Set in the early 80s, it actually looks and sounds and feels like early 80s horror too. Total throwback to a time when Satan was the go-to movie villain: the pacing, the "plot", the ending is all dead-on. You can't be into horror and not feel nostalgic watching this.

3/10
I give the movie a 3 for at least filming in India.
Just another Disney family film that is destined to air on cable t.v. for many years to come.

Saw The Judge over the weekend.
Basically a story of someone trying to get back in favour with his Family, after years of being excluded. Excellent performances from all, R.Downey Jr & R.Duvall will be there or thereabouts when the Oscars are nominated for sure. 9/10 for me.

I really hate found-footage movies, but having just run my own haunt I thought I might get a kick out of this one. I was wrong.

See No Evil 2 (2014): 7/10
A decent throwback slasher flick. Just what I was in the mood for. And it had actors from Halloween 4 & 5, Bitten and Hannibal in it. Plus some wrestler I don't know.
Next up is Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014). With a tag line like "A sequel you did Nazi coming," how can it go wrong?
ETA: Dead Snow was great. A 7/10 at least. Some great camp. Kinda felt like Shaun of the Dead, but better. I laughed out loud more than once. Finally...
Cabin Fever Patient Zero (2014): 6/10
This had some funny moments, but the male characters were all annoying.

A little too much "side" story stuff, but excellent story overall.
Robert Downey made me love him again.
