Beyond the Darkness (Buoi Omega) - Joe D'Amato is capable of making some awful movies, but this isn't one of them. Necrophilia, fingernails being ripped out and blood as red as barn paint. All covered under the musically smooth, soothing and sensual backdrop of a Goblin score. 5.5/10

[REC] (2007) - 7/10. Caught this one by accident, an actually good "found footage" film! Manuela Valesco was kinda hot in it too.

I love that Goblin score. Add to that nudity and an acid bath, and you can't go wrong.

Saw the new Paul Newman doc about his racing career. I had no idea he was that successful in the auto racing world.
He's like the Liberace of bass & pot.

I really enjoyed the first one so I had to give this one a shot. Don't waste your time, it's awful.

Digging up the Marrow - 5/10
Watched this as a result of the good reviews from Sludgers. Adam Green should stick to directing. Acting is not his forte' and it ruined an otherwise decent film.

Disturbing images to say the least. How man that survived multiple surgeries is a miracle. Best footage were of Siskel & Ebert shooting promos and insulting one another at the same time. I had no idea they hated one another.
They each were guilty of having big egos, but the way their partnership ended was tragic.

you clearly saw a different movie.
The fooage of those 2 having verbal exchanges that bordered on abuse were very prominent.
Neither of them would allow the other to win one arguement and neither was above resorting
to foul language to make their point.
View the film again, this time with thicker lenses and comeback here with another review
junior.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 8/10. Excellent CGI, pretty good story and sufficient action. But mostly because Kerri Russell!

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck 7/10
Very interesting, but I went away thinking that Cobain was truly messed up. Not like cute little outcast made good messed up. More like certifiable mental problems and general dickhead messed up.

The Babadook - 10/10
I can't find anything I didn't like about this movie. It was fucking fantastic. Dread, allegory, superb acting, genuine unease...for a horror movie, this is about as good as it gets. Seriously.
I felt the same way I did after watching The Exorcist for the first time.
I went into this movie knowing it had great reviews, but very little else around it, including any "hype." I found the allegory to be the best part, and I think that people who thought this movie was dumb just watched it as a monster movie and didn't put any thought into what they were seeing. Shame. It was so much more.
Avengers: Age of Ultron - 2/10
Uh. Seeing the Hulk again was cool, I guess. I can't believe all the people that have an issue w/ Man of Steel (re: the trashing of Metropolis) are okay with tired, repeated storylines about Tony Stark unleashing some world-ending bullshit and the population cheering when he stops it. If the writers/directors had a lick of concern for fleshing out an actual story, Tony Stark would be in a cell on death row right next to Lex Luthor.
The oft-repeated slow-mo camera pans around the group (in which every character is in the midst of performing their own unique ability) made me feel like I was looking at the world's most expensive diorama.
James Spader was great, but otherwise...this movie is void of any heart. Or sense.

Despicable Me - 7
This film was enjoyable enough. I can see why the Minions became so popular.
Not my favourite animation film but decent enough.
Interstellar- 9
This film lasted for almost 3 hours, but I was not bored once. It was an intense film as well. Normally black hole space mumbo jumbo films kind of irritate me, but this one was done so well. Plus the dsytopian future was nicely done. Nolan really has a great knack for pulling off blockbuster films that are entertaining but thought provoking.
