Jug Face - 6/10.
It's decent for a Netflix B-Horror flick. Interesting concept and the acting was ok enough. Nothing groundbreaking but it had some good moments.
"Jug Face tells the story of a pregnant teen trying to escape a backwoods community when she discovers that she may be sacrificed to a creature in a pit."

Ant-Man - 8/10
Didn't have a lot of expectations for this, but I'd probably put it in my top-3 Marvel flicks (along with Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy). Fun movie.

^ agreed. Good flick.
The Evil - a Roger Corman film from 78/79. Typical of the era of this genre of the time, with an evil unknown/unseen force (think Amytiville Horror) as the baddie. Not great, not awful, and if you dig Corman flicks its worth a look- 5/10

The Gift - 6.5/10
Not bad. A little predictable, but I expected it to be. I like Jason Bateman, and he played a guy who was a jerk/bully so that was entertaining.

Joe Dirt 2 - 4/10. Minus Kid Rock they pretty much had the cast which I'm surprised they agreed to do just because of how weak the movie was.

I loved this movie. A slow-burning thriller with genuine suspense. The special effects used to create AVA are nearly flawless, and she's amazing to watch. Don't expect a sci-fi action movie...expect thought-provoking and cerebral.

Hadn't seen this in 20 years and thought I liked it lot more back then.
Only things I remembered from it was Tim Roth and the opening theme.

Silent Tongue 3/10 Super weird western starring a spaced out River Phoenix mourning his dead Indian bride. The plot, if there was one, was so convoluted and silly, I gave up caring about 1/2 through. Finished watching because I love Phoenix, no matter what he does. Miss him. *sniffles*
But this . . . so much potential to be an excellent film and they blew it.

Ted 2 - 7/10 : pretty much as good/bad as the first one. As it turns out, McFarlane's lame jokes are somewhat funny if they come from an animated teddybear.

Straight Outta Compton - 5/10
This left me feeling like I missed something, even though I was watching the whole time. They condensed the story too much, and left too much detail out. It felt disjointed and more like highlights of a story instead of a whole.

Child 44 - 4/10
During Stalin's rule of the Soviet Union in the early 1950s, Ministry of State Security (MGB) Agent and war hero Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy) uncovers a strange and brutal series of child murders. MGB leadership refuses to acknowledge the deaths as murders, however, because Soviet doctrine states that only capitalism creates serial killers. The son of Leo's partner is murdered by the serial killer, and during Leo's investigation, his wife, Raisa (Noomi Rapace), is accused of being disloyal to the state. Leo suspects that his amoral and ambitious enemy in the MGB, Vasili Nikitin, is behind the charges. Leo refuses to support the accusation, and he is forced to take a demeaning militia position in the town of Volsk. Raisa accompanies him and must work as a janitor.
In Volsk Leo meets his new commander, General Nesterov (Gary Oldman). Meanwhile, Vasili calls Raisa and attempts to persuade her to leave Leo and join him in Moscow. When she refuses, Vasili orders a local MGB man to abuse her. Raisa later admits to Leo that she only agreed to marry him because she feared what would happen to her if she refused a high-ranking member of state security.
This could've/ should've been much better.
It was extremely dark and hard to see what was going on.
Accents were hard to decipher at times.

Closer 8/10
Amazing dialogue in this film from 2005. The entire cast is on their A game
here. Set in London, Clive Owen steals every scene. Portman is gorgeous and was perfectly cast for this role.

I found that movie trite and extraordinarily derivative. 2/10
Birdman - 8/10
Amazing to watch. I can't imagine the rehearsals necessary for the string of extremely long takes. I spent half the film marveling at how it was made.
Captain America - The Winter Soldier - 2/10
I keep hearing how great this movie is and how it's more of a spy thriller than a superhero movie. It might be a spy movie, but it's a spy movie for fucking idiots. The dialogue is beyond retarded and the script is ridiculous.

Straight Outta Compton 7/10 Good movie that made buckets of money this weekend. Which is not so good considering how the film conveniently skipped over the band's past misogynist bullshit.
I don't understand why black people think that by disrespecting one of their own, they are doing their entire community a disservice. Dre beat the fuck out of his wife and numerous other women and this needs to be addressed.
Scorsese certainly didn't have any trouble showing a fellow Italian using his obtrusive wife for a punching bag.
