"Pet Sematary" - 7.0/10

Pretty good remake. I'd say very solid, but not great. Starts off pretty slow for a good while, but then gets really creepy by the end. I remember liking the original movie and the book, too. This has some significant changes, but they work. The cast is solid, but the movie belongs to John Lithgow, who rocks it as Jud Crandall.

Went with th wife to see “Pet Cemetry” last night. Couldn’t wait for it to be over. Didn’t find it to be remotely tense, let alone have any scary moments. We sat towards the back and not once did the 1/2 full theater have and screams or jumps from my view. John Lithgow did justice on his role at least. I’ve not read the book, what movie was more true to Kings version? Told the wife at dinner I wanted to walk out an hour in, she said she was thinking the same thing. I’d go 1/10 on this flick.

Couple movies i found on Netflix that I don’t recall being in theaters, Butter ( dark comedy) and Room (thriller). Give them both high marks.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post (2018) Chloe Grace Moretz. Teen lesbian gets sent to conversion camp, the 3 CGM make out scenes were hot enough but could/should have shown more, 7/10

"Shazam" - 7.5/10

A lot of fun this one. Nothing amazing, but a good, entertaining movie that veers away from DC's mopey super-serious period. Zachary Levi, the kids playing Batson and his best friend are well cast, and the other kids are pretty good, too. Mark Strong was a bit of a stereotypical baddie, but his performance didn't hurt the movie or anything.

Stay until after the credits. Two tags with this one.

Is there a new Pet Cemetery?
I watched the old one (in 1989 or so?) and it scared the shit outta me.
I didn't even see it on the big screen, just a video tape on our old 19 inch TV or something.

Yeah, it was just released this week or last. Seems a lot of folks like it, want much in my opinion. I’d save it for a rental if your only 1/2 way interested.

Seen the original on vhs in high school The Zelda lady did give me the “willies”, and I think she was only in 1 scene of the original.

Search Party (2014) Thomas Middleditch TJ Miller JB Smoove and a bunch of familiar faces you see having secondary roles in plenty of comedies. Funny movie for sure but way to many shots of TM's dick and ass 7/10

BlacKkKlansman (2018) Adam Driver Alec Baldwin Topher Grace. Its a very interesting story with good actors but its just way to preachy, anti white and the Trump thing at the end of the movie was just completely unnecessary 6/10

Reservoir Dogs (1992) Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarantino Tim Roth, Chris Penn, i know this is supposed to be a classic/ground breaking film but as a first time watcher in 2019 it wasnt anything special, the opening discussion about Madonna and Mr Pink never tipping (i agree with him 100%) was funny. 6/10

I noticed just something while watching Pirates Of The Caribbean - End. It was on cable.
There's a scene where Keith Richard's character noodles around on an old guitar. As he puts the guitar down, if you look closely, one of the tuning pegs is missing, and there's just the small hole where it was.
Keef was playing on a 5 string.

Shoplifters 2018 - 9/10 - Such a clever movie and very emotional. Every time this movie was up against Roma at award shows it lost. Roma was alright (I don't fully get the hype) but this was the best movie of 2018 IMO

Beer League(2006) Artie Lange, Ralph Macchio, Tina Fey, Laurie Metcalf. Totally Un PC 80's style comedy with faggots ,nigger, sexist jokes, plenty of boobs including the hall of fame pair of 80's porn legend Keisha who has a pretty decent part in the movie. I laughed a lot 8/10

Rock the Kasbah (2015) Bill Murray, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Bruce Willis, Danny McBride, Scott Caan, Kate played a pretty hot hooker¸

When Bill Murray asked her Can you sing ?
" No but I could fuck you like a mouseketeer on crack, i can do things to you that are illegal in every civilization in the world, i will leave you broken, drooling and speaking in tongues like a hillbilly snake handler. That was pretty sweet 7/10

Wow, rarely am I certain that a movie is great across the board (directing, writing, acting, design) and find that the critics heavily dislike it. I was shocked to see the 52% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes. But this movie is beautiful. It's really something. It's got darkness, yes, but Burton got it right. He finally made the Disney team-up work with the right pairing of Mouse House and misfit. It's his best since "Big Fish." You're gonna get misty-eyed.
My wife and I saw it tonight with our 4 year old. We were all enthralled! How did this thing get panned so badly? This is a top notch Burton film and a Disney product. Doesn't make sense. I may have to go see it on the big screen again. It was magic.

Pretty damn funny. Just the kind of straight-up rom-com you see less and less of these days. The political stuff was pretty timely, but the punches landed.

I saw Penguins a couple of weeks ago.
It's one of those DisneyNature movies, and it was amazing!
So cool how they track these little guys...in Antarctica!
The story was so cute and narrated so perfectly...check it out.
I saw the Disney monkey movie last year, a little heartbreaking at times, but still really cute.
