"Parasite" - 9/10

This movie is masterfully crafted. From the director of "Snowpiercer" and "Okra," Bong Joon Ho. It deftly moves from being a black comedy to something much deeper. Watching it, you really have no idea where it's going to go.

"The Lighthouse" - 8.5/10

Great movie. So well made, and the black and white cinematography is fantastic. Dafoe and Pattinson are great together in this but Dafoe just inhabits this grizzled salt like nobody's business. Another amazing performance.

"The Irishman" - 9/10

I think we have a new classic. De Niro, Pesci, Pacino, Keitel, etc. Scorsese has made an epic movie that stands alongside his other forays into the gangster lifestyle ("Goodfellas," "Casino"). As always, it's violent, reflective and at times hilarious. A must-see.

I'm counting down the days until I can see this. I would love to see it in a theatre.

It's playing in a number of theaters. I don't know how many, but a decent number depending on the locale. Here in LA, it's definitely a go as far as a short theatrical run. Sadly, the theater wasn't super full, but it was the early afternoon.

JoJo Rabbit, 10 year old screw up joins nazi youth group during last days of WW2. His imaginary friend is Hitler. His mother has a a Teenage Jewish girl hidden away in their house. JoJo makes some tough decisions.
Seemed like a Wes Anderson movie to me, but that’s a good thing imo. Lots of funny parts sprinkled with tense and sad moments.
Good caste and well done film. Id recommend it7/10

"Doctor Sleep" - 7.5/10

A very good adaptation of King's book, and a reconciliation of King's and Kubrick's visions of "The Shining" (with King's approval). MacGregor as well as the young actress playing the girl who shines give really strong performances. Some chills and some moving moments.

"The Good Liar" - 6/10

I was hoping this would be better, but the story falls flat. There really isn't enough tension or suspense to it, and I thought there would be more twists and turns given the logline. Bill Condon's a very good filmmaker, and McKellen and Mirren together are a dream for any viewer, with their acting being the best thing about this, but the whole thing didn't quite get there.

Had never heard of this movie before and now i know why

Going Overboard (1989) Adam Sandler, Burt Young, Billy Bob Thornton, Peter Berg, Billy Zane, Milton Berle. 2/10 An absolute piece of shit one of the worst i have ever seen, community tv level of production, only positive was the ton of late's 80's style chicks and the cheezy songs.

I was so disappointed after the first one (astonishingly) turned out so well. Amazing that Mr. "Mission: Impossible" himself could shit the bed on a franchise after only two movies. The book isn't one of the better entries in the series so that was probably a part of the problem.

Great movie, with terrific performances by Damon and Bale. Funny, with heart and a lot of great racing sequences. This makes a nice twofer with Ron Howard's "Rush."
