Well, *someone* obviously did it. This gets asked quite a lot, but how does Trump manage to get people to ruin themselves for him? They willingly fall on the sword for him. Velveeta Vain ain't that bright, and yet somehow he gets people to do this. And some of those people actually *are* relatively bright. I saw some prominent attorney on CNN or MSNBC say that she knows Sekulow and mentioned that he's a very good attorney. It seems baffling that he or anyone else would willingly do harm to their lives or careers for some corrupt moron.

Giuliani seems to embody that great quote from the "The Dark Knight" movie. “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Having lived through the Giuliani mayoral years in NYC, I was aware that he had a pretty good standing. The adults around me always talked about him with praise. So Giuliani was reasonably well-liked in New York as mayor, and then for one hot minute after 9/11 happened, people thought he was a hero. Not just in New York, but across the country. Over the years, his image was tarnished as shit came out about what he didn't do for first responders. And then in the last several years it gradually slid downhill from there with batshit conservative-minded comments, until the Trump era finally ramped up his transformation into a fuck-up at warp speed.

His only hope at redemption would be to later shock the American public with some version of, "Yeah, this was by design. Trump was harming the American democracy and doing things illegally, and when he brought me on, I knew what making that statement would do, and I had to tell the truth." Although I don't believe he would ever do something like that. I think he really is just a Trump cultist who lost his marbles and inadvertently fucked up.
