Oh, for sure. And I don't think anyone wants to end up in a congressional hearing in this way. These hearings have a way of really spelling out "historical!" There's historical in the way that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman or Fiona Hill nobly testified before Congress in the impeachment hearings and then there's the sort of way people like Emily Murphy end up in them, trying to tap dance and defend wrongdoing. I think she'd prefer to fade into the background now, but people will always remember her.

I asked the same question in my "Will there be a civil war?" thread. What's their breaking point? At what point do the Proud Boys and redneck patriot militias finally snap and march on DC with their AR-15's to finally overthrow Biden the tyrannical Democrat-run gubmint? They sure do a lot of talking for a bunch of rednecks who crow about the 2nd Amendment and its purpose for overthrowing tyrants but have yet to actually overthrow any governments.

I was just watching Obama's (Barack) interview on Colbert's show. They really didn't bother to mention Trump by name but the subject was a focal point in a lot of the questions. Colbert asked Obama if he thought these last four years measured up to the fears Obama had about what would happen when Trump was elected and he simply said one word. "Exceeded." Which I think put a grave stamp to the summation.
History will look at Trump's ascendancy into the office as an embarrassing and horrifying mistake for a revered world power. A stain on the illustrious office. And it will also be an embarrassing reflection on tens of millions of Americans who either unknowingly failed to either or knowingly did spot but refused to repudiate a cruel and uncaring con man with an abysmal professional life. Many who read about his victory and term in the future will be astounded at how this happened.

It *will* take decades, and you may be right, maybe a century or so, before the United States has had enough remove from this period for it to just be history from a long time ago.
At the very least, I suspect some laws are going to be changed because of what Trump and his cronies did. So people who learn these laws in school will find out why they came to exist.

Just saw a poll for the 2024 Republican Primary and Trump had 53% and Pence was 2nd with 12%. We really need ill health or something to distract him like his own tv channel or legal troubles to keep him from talking about running and thus his base will move on to other candidates (Jr. was 3rd on 8%) or go back to not voting.

You mean the hearing from yesterday? It wasn't even in court it was in a hotel. They tried to make it look official. They are grifting hardcore, fleecing their supporters and trying to make the rest of us question the system and keep things divided. His major backers have moved on so he has to grift on small donors and make it look like they have a chance to change the result. They were raking in $10mil a day right after the election.
Will Spanky pardon Ghislaine Maxwell? She could implicate him in some really nasty stuff.
