Any one have one?

I’ve been wanting to buy one for quite some time and the Jimmy Buffet thread about their fans wearing Tommy Bahama shirts and Rolex’s made me think about it even more.

All I want is a Submariner with the date it’s a touch over $10000. It would be a good investment I think. Some pre-owned ones are priced pretty high so good resale also.

I would love to buy one as well, very reticent to buy one off of the Internet despite a portion of them being certified. You have to have the papers to certify them. Once I have a straight up gold faced, gold band Rolex I feel like I’ve made it in life.

I have a couple of fairly pricey watches. Never wear them. Can't imagine paying for a Rolex. It'd just sit in a drawer.

For way less than $10,000 you could have an awesome holiday in Thailand or Malaysia and pick up a "submariner" from a street market for less than $50 after haggling. No-one who met you would ever know the difference.

You’re 1000% paying for a name. There’s nothing special about them. They’re beautiful, but you can get a Tudor or something like that for $3k and get basically the exact same watch. The only reason to buy a Rolex is to be that dickhead wearing a $10k watch at the Walmart.

Unless you make two hundred grand a year it’s obvious that your Rolex is a fake. There are more fake Rolexes in existence than real ones. Rolexes SCREAM fake. Especially when the rest of the guy is dressed like a slob.
