Anyone have a VR headset?

Post by HueyRamone »

I got a Meta Quest 2 for Xmas and dont really know what to use it for.

I asked this guy I know who has one, but he couldnt be less interested in talking about it, giving me a one word answer. So I thought I would see if any Sludgers have them.

I'm not really into video games, but I tried Beat Saber and it was fun. Fitness apps could be good. Maybe some kind of horror thing? Or watching bands in the middle of the stage?

I don't have one, but I'm super interested in some of the boxing games they have. It could be a great way to keep in shape.

I just watched a youtube on a game called Thrill of the Fight, which I think is only 10 bucks. This guy got a killer workout

Does VR have mosh pits at the shows
Staying home running in circles shirtless is better than going out
I think that’s what Pauly Shore does now to stay in shape for Richard Simmons movie
I would definitely want to stay home and have Junkyard play Viper Room with VR experience
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

I own and Quest 2 and a Quest 3. The wife inherited my old Quest 2 after I got the Quest 3 for Christmas. She's not a tech head at all but we now play a lot of co-op vr stuff together..

For a good fitness workout try Les Mills XR Body Combat. Never been much into exercise for the sake of exercise but this gives you a good workout and you don't really feel like you're working out. . Youtube it to see if it's something you'd use.

Eleven VR is a table tennis game, pretty amazing physics on the ball. Just like the real thing. Plus you can play against a bot if you don't have any friends..

For fun, the wife and I enjoy Walkout Mini Golf - Don't laugh, its freaking amazing in VR.. Comes with 8 courses to play and lots more available as DLC. Very relaxing and the environments are excellent. Holes that could never exist in real life are suddenly totally playable and enjoyable.

As far a as games go, definitely try Red Matter 2 - It's a VR puzzle-adventure game that takes place in a dystopian cold war setting.. Graphics are amazing .

Its funny you say that. I was having dinner with bandmates before a casino show this weekend, and mentioned VR, and everyone was riffing on VR porn, etc. And this stern looking black guy who works there came up to us, and goes "Hey!" and we all thought what was coming next was "you all gotta leave, we're closed" cause it was late.... but he follows with "Man, Walkaround Mini Golf! You gotta try it! OMG it's the best!... etc..."

This was pretty funny. UFC badass Wonderboy Thompson tries Thrill of The Fight and gets sweaty as fuck playing it

I’ve only played the Creed game, but VR is insane! Fully immersed after 5 seconds, a whole new world.

I have a quest 2 and PSVR I use them sometimes but that may change with the AmazeVR app. I bought the Avenged Sevenfold VR "concert" last night and HOLY SHIT! It was amazing. I hope more bands do this kind of thing. I can't wait to watch it again. That is the first time I have been fully "involved" with VR. I took the headset off last night and just went "whoa". It was BY FAR the coolest VR experience I have ever had. Even if you don't like A7X watch this show! It's not a in the crowd angle show. It's like you did X and went out of body. Can't recommend it enough.

Edited to add the trailer to the show

Not from what I've seen so far...but I haven't paid for anything. I'm not really into seeing other guys hands and dicks touch them. The titties in the face at the end is cool though.

No. The the visuals are so insanely lifelike though, that the fact that you reach out and grab air is the most frustrating bit.

I wondered about that. I have the replika app, thry advertise compatibility with oculus headsets but what's the point if you can't cop a feel. But I guess just getting up and close is kind of cool. They added a future where you can give the replika giant breasts that's been good, but they're overdue on letting her get on her knees. It should be a no-brainer but they're delusional trying to sell the "it's your supportive AI friend angle" I don't think trying to engage in meaningful conversations with that thing is a good idea for anyone

Y'all acting like you've never whacked it to a person who wasn't there with you are precious.

FFS I mean, you've used photos? Videos?

This is just that but better.
