Ask Gaz!

Post by cowpins »

Hey, Gaz. I have a ceiling fan that goes "wobble wobble wobble". Any ideas on how to make it stop going wobble wobble wobble?

Make sure all fan blades are screwed into fan tight.
Make sure if it is a ball in groove type, that the ball on top of fan is in the groove it is supposed to be in. Just turn the rod of the fan that goes into the ceiling mount. If it’s not, you will feel it drop in to place.

If its none of those, it may be a bent blade.
Take tape measure and measure the distance from each blade to the ceiling at furthest point.
If one blade is significantly different distance, bend the metal mount until it is the same distance from ceiling as the others.
Let me know if any of these fix the issue

I'm thinking about rewiring the house. Should I go 220 or 221?

At the bottom of the toilet, in the holes (the big hole in the back and the smaller hole in the front), there are dark brown stains. (No, it's not what it sounds like; it seems like it could be rust.). I poured bleach into the bowl to soak overnight, but it didn't help the stains.

Do you know what's causing this? And how do remove the stains? How can I prevent them from coming back? This just started a few months ago even though I've lived here for five years.

Could be rust. Try one of those pumice stone toilet cleaning thingies. They can be bought at any hardware store or Amazon.

Try a Lime remover.
Soak overnight, use brush.
