That is fantastic and impressive , congratulations!

I want to loose about 25 lbs to get to my ideal weight, my nemesis is nighttime snacking. Many times I will do well during the day, and then just mess everything up after dark lol

I'm actually intrigued. What did you used to eat, and what did you switch to?

Liquids...just water? or flavored water? did you cut out orange/apple juice?

Do you mind if I ask how much you used to weigh, and what you weigh now? I'm probably 220-230, so a loss near yours, coupled with being active again this summer would do wonders.

Good job!

Start drinking energy drinks! Celsius has no sugar, 10 calories per can, and even accelerates metabolism and burns body fat.

Prime Energy Drinks have electrolytes too. The extra caffeine will help you to post more.

Orange juice has as many calories as soda. Obviously it has more nutritional value via vitamins, fibre etc., but for the purposes of weight loss it’s a good one to cut.

Congrats!!!

And I've said it a million times . . . sugar is the devil. If you want to lose weight, and lose it fast, eliminate sugar from your diet.

On that note, you won't have any trouble keeping the weight off. Once you've lost it, you will make sure to never get it back again, as the feeling of losing weight is astounding.

I'm also a frumpy, out of shape slob, who would be interested in more details as to what you used to eat, compared to what you changed. I weigh 200-205, but I'm short/medium build (and hung like a Gherkin Pickle....... ). I don't think I eat like a pig?, I just sit at a desk all day, and then sit on the couch when I get home. I do have 1 soda a day and fast food (Pizza, Subs, Burgers, Tacos) for lunch 3 days out of the week, eat semi-healthy at home/dinner.

For me, it’s simple math.
I wear my Fitbit watch and make sure that I burn more calories than I take in.
My job is fairly active and I average about 3 miles a day walking at my job plus up and downstairs.
I quit eating fast food of any kind. I may splurge one day a week on a pizza or Chinese or something but even then I try and make it as healthy as possible.
One of the biggest changes is for a snack I am obsessed with celery, sticks, and holy guacamole mini packs. They fill me up taste good and have very little calories.
Chicken with zero carb tortillas.
Hummus.
Edamame baked for a crunchy snack.
Pure Protein shake in morning
Lots of salads with zero sugar dressing.
Keeping calories between 1800-2200/day.
I burn an average of 4,000 calories per day at work.
I take in an avg of 2,000.
3,500 calories per = 1 lb.
Every 2 days I’m losing a lb

I'm no dietician but honestly, your diet doesn't sound awful. Fast food and soda is murder but it looks like you don't go too crazy there.

In your case, I think you just need to be more active. You're not massive--I'm relatively short and was that weight in college with all the pizza and beer and I was just a regular chubbo.

My concern would just be your heart. I got a desk job too and that's my biggest health concern, just getting the energy to get up and move once I'm at home. Strong heart means exercise. It's a drag but I guess heart attacks are too.

Ever try gas station Tornados? They're like large taquitos. Come filled with a variety of processed ingredients. Jalapeño and cream cheese is A#1.

I do notice that my heart rate seems "concerning" on the rare occasion that I'm doing something strenuous (chopping tree branches, cleaning brush, etc.).

Good for you, Gaz. I’ve been doing a bit of cutting back on the sugar myself (haven’t cut it out completely, but for the most part except for the rare occasion). It’s definitely helped me lose some weight.
