Looks like the Gary Oldman version and that's fine by me.

Neat!!

Apparently Danny Elfman is doing the music, too. Definitely looks like it's taking its cues from Bram Stoker's Dracula.

How many more times will they keep telling the same story? I did read a good Vampire book, but it was more of the Vampire only went after the really shitty people, and wanted to make things right so he would end up in heaven. So he worked with a priest. I thought that was a clever twist.

If they insist in making the same fucking movies, at least put a cool twist, and or make it stand out.

I love everything Dracula, especially the 1931 version. But it's true, how many times can you make the same story into a movie? The German silent film Nosferatu was such a blatant rip off that Bram Stoker's Widow sued and won. All prints were supposed to be destroyed. Thankfully they weren't. But that just means extra versions of the Dracula story, like the recent version of Nosferatu.

Anybody like the 1979 the Langela version? They cut the story done by a third by having the film open with Dracula's arrival in London. It's pretty good, but it has the worst ending ever. Dracula is supposed to be flown into the sky in daylight. But the special effect is so bad it doesn't resemble a human figure at all.
My song tribute to the original Dracula:

Where the Langela version shines for me is the music. Williams knocked it out of the park with that score.

A better storyline would be a movie about Vlad Teppes, aka Vlad the Impaler, and basically culminating in him becoming Dracula.

I'm sure something like that exists, and someone please point me to that if you know of it.

But other than that, this plot has been played out to death.

That would be Dracula Untold, which was a really missed opportunity.

Definitely. I I think every soundtrack I ever owned was composed by that man. I crank the theme to Superman like it was Welcome to the Jungle LOL
One part I thought was terrifyingly groundbreaking was the rotting Lucy hiding in the cave. That freaked me out as a kid

For me it was the throat ripping on the ship.

Random anecdote - like Bela, Langela portrayed Dracula in a popular stage production, possibly even broadway. But unlike his predecessor Frank was marketed heavily as the sexy vampire. The romantic dracula. And that was the last role that dude had as a sex symbol because he did not age like the immortal count

It would be nice if just once they made the book as it’s written into a movie.

Renfield, which came out a few years ago with Nic Cage as The Count was good fun, and Cage played him as he’s written.
Worth a look.
