Does it get more gain of function than that?

If only you had actually read the fucking article...

"Despite their alarming appearance, these infected rabbits pose no threat to humans. Colorado Parks and Wildlife has indicated that Shope virus is not contagious to humans, dogs or cats. The virus is species-specific, meaning it can infect rabbits but it cannot crossover to infect humans, dogs, cats or most other animals."

I know what it says. Oddly enough The Last of Us inspired me to research this like 2 years ago. It was only like 20 years ago that scientists said this type of virus could not affect animals, just insects and the like. Apparently now it has experienced a gain of function.

What scientists said that?

Have you taken some sacred oath to be absolutely full of shit about everything?
Insects are animals. Papillomaviruses have been known since the 1930s. The Shope virus was discovered in 1933.

Yeah dude, a sacred oath.
Dork. Always making yourself look like a dumb s***
The first thing to come up in a Google search pretty much backs up when I said

Cordyceps fungus, in its natural state, generally does not infect mammals like humans or other animals like dogs or horses. It primarily targets invertebrates, such as insects and spiders.
The fungus responsible for the fictional pandemic in "The Last of Us," Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, is real, but it only infects certain species of insects, like ants, and manipulates their behavior. It causes the infected ant to climb up vegetation and latch onto the underside of a leaf, where the fungus can then grow and release its spores, further spreading the infection among insects.
According to scientists, it would require a significant evolutionary leap and millions of years of genetic changes for Cordyceps fungi to infect any mammal, says Dr. Perlin from Hackensack Meridian Health. This is because Cordyceps species are highly specialized to infect a specific host and have evolved mechanisms to manipulate the specific nervous system and physiology of their target species.
While Cordyceps fungi don't naturally pose a threat to animals in the real world, the threat of other fungal infections, potentially exacerbated by factors like climate change, is increasing, says Yale School of Medicine. For example, Candida auris, a fungus thriving in higher temperatures, has emerged as a concern due to its ability to spread person-to-person.

Cordyceps fungi are parasitic and specifically target arthropods. They manipulate the behavior of their hosts to ensure the right conditions for spore release.

Why aren't animals infected with cordyceps? : r/thelastofus -

They don't have cordyceps fungus, asswipe. Those rabbits have pappilomas caused by the Shope virus. Fucktard.

We are fucked because we're overrun by Qtard asswipes lacking the mental faculties even the most rotted and dessicated zombie possesses. If DDM was infested with a fungus, it would be a gain of function of his shit for brains.
