I tend to get pretty lively in expressing my opinion on here, and in fact have been rabidly attacked for my political views almost from the time I began posting on Sludge, which is kinda ironic because I don't really care about politics all that much. It just makes for good entertainment on the web. IRL the political opinions of others have NO bearing whatsoever on whether I like them or not. Over the years I've had a few boyfriends with wacky right-wing views and have found it fun to argue with them, mostly because the arguments are heated but purely rhetorical and tend to lead to extremely passionate sex. (It's obviously worked out well for Carville and Matalin.) I think anybody who considers differing political views a deal-breaker in friendships or romances must not have much of a life, and probably lack something in the social skills department.

The OP who started this thread is an odd one. Apparently it's a dude, but his screenname is femmy as fuck, and I don't recall reading a single political opinion from him until Obama took office. Ever since then it's been one big rabidly partisan, ill-informed, half-baked tantrum after another. So his childishness here doesn't really surprise me.
