Why do they only broadcast the views of the Muslim's? Why not ask a freedom of speech advocate for their opinion? Because that's not part of the BBC's agenda.

Having someone say 'this is a tragic blow for free speech' or 'everyone has the right to be offended, this girl was not inciting hatred, she was burning a book which many see to be oppressive against women' would not be appeasing the Muslims. It would be, shock horror, allowing people to make up their own minds. Therefore, there is one officially acceptable view and that is the only one made available to the millions of dirty unwashed UK peasants (who are forced to fund the biased BBC) who read the article.

Arrested over burning a book? She's 15 years old and being a rebel FFS. I know a lot of people who burned the bible to piss of their parents at that age. BIG DEAL. But no, in the UK Muslims are above all else, and they must be appeased at all costs, with the BBC acting as their official mouthpiece.

Whoever thinks that the situation regarding Muslims in Europe, especially the UK, will get better over time, is deluding themselves. Know your rights, motherfuckers!

Let's see if a kid in this country could get away with burning a Koran on school grounds? Or a Bible....yeah, not fucking likely. The high school my one kid went to wouldn't even let them wear t-shirts with "potentially inappropriate" logos on them. Which interpretation of said rule varied depending on the teacher...

What's with you and the BBC?

Why did the article go on and on about respecting Islam, how sacred the Koran is, and how the MP thought there was no 'deeper problem'. FIVE paragraphs were dedicated to teaching us all how important the Koran is and how it must be respected.

The fact that it happened on school grounds was not the reason she was arrested. Read the article: "A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of inciting religious hatred after allegedly burning an English language version of the Koran." If she'd lit up some pages from Shakespeare, she might have been suspended or at the very worst expelled, but arrested? No way, and it would never have made the news.

The Beeb and I have a love-hate relationship. I love Britcoms, most of my favorite shows are BBC productions. But I cannot understand how a publicly-funded news source can be so blatantly biased. Don't they have a responsibility to be neutral? The BBC news service is quite literally a mouthpiece for Islam.

As said above, the same thing would have happened if she had burned a Bible.

And the reason for the section on the significance of the Koran is due to the large amount of ignorance over the beliefs of Islam in the UK. If the item burnt was a Hindu text, they would similarly have commented on how that would have been offensive to Hindus.
