Obama to keep Bush tax cuts in place for all taxpayers.

Obama to keep Bush tax cuts in place for all taxpayers.
Are the war board liberals still alive, or did they commit suicide today?
King Obama said today he would extend tax cuts for ALL taxpayers from the job creators all the way down to those who democrats said never got a tax cut in the first place.
It was yet another broken campaign promise from King Obama.
He promised to do away with those tax cuts for the evil, smelly, rich people who make above 250,000.
Guantánamo was still open last time I checked.
Terrorists are being "tortured" as Obama's rendition policy is still in place.
He said there would be no health care mandate.
The list is almost endless.
Change you can believe in.

He's looking out for us. That's more important than spiting Republicans, isn't it? If keeping tax breaks for the rich is what it takes to keep Republicans from fucking us over again, so be it.Nevermind wrote:Are the war board liberals still alive, or did they commit suicide today?

Most of the prisoners have been removed and those few left are people we can't find a place for.Guantánamo was still open last time I checked.
A bit off the mark on this, boyo. It was President Cheney, sorry, Bush who dreamed up the 'rendition' and torture program. One of Obama's first acts as President was to end it.Terrorists are being "tortured" as Obama's rendition policy is still in place.
http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/nati ... index.htmlOn Jan. 22, 2009, two days after his inauguration, President Obama signed executive orders effectively ending the Central Intelligence Agency's secret interrogation program, directing the closing of the Guantánamo Bay detention camp within a year and setting up a sweeping, high-level review of the best way to hold and question terrorist suspects in the future. The move put a halt to the Bush administration's military commissions system for prosecuting detainees.
Fair enough. You got one right. He said there would be no health care mandate.
Damn straight. The list is almost endless.

Re: Obama to keep Bush tax cuts in place for all taxpayers.
the Justice Department is currently arguing in court that they have the right to enforce a mandate because of Congress's power to tax and spend:
http://www.columbiamissourian.com/stori ... l-lawsuit/
In its motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed in Florida, the Justice Department said the requirement to buy coverage is an exercise of Congress' constitutional power to tax and spend.
Of course Obama has been rejecting the notion that the mandate is a tax, and promised not to raise taxes on the middle class. Come 2014, unless the mandate is overturned, the middle class is going to be hit with a huge tax increase despite the assurance of our esteemed leader:
“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes”
GEORGE STEPHANOPOLOUS: but you reject that it’s a tax increase? (referring to the mandate)
PRESIDENT OBAMA: I absolutely reject that notion
he's against a mandate, then he's for a mandate, but swears it's not a tax, it gets challenged in court and suddenly it's a tax even though he promised not to raise taxes on the middle class. To be fair it doesn't go into effect until 2014, but if he has his way, despite all his rhetoric, he wants to enact what amounts to a massive tax increase on the middle class. He'll probably try and find a way to blame all empty promises and outright lies on the republicans, but it sure looks to me like his loyalty lies much more with the insurance companies (most major corporations for that matter) than it does with the people he's supposed to represent

So tax cuts for job creators under Bush= horrible.MasterOfMeatPuppets wrote:He's looking out for us. That's more important than spiting Republicans, isn't it? If keeping tax breaks for the rich is what it takes to keep Republicans from fucking us over again, so be it.
Extending those same tax cuts under Obama= Great idea, and what it takes to keep Republicans from fucking us over again.
Ladies and gentlemen, the liberal brain at work, barely,
So what you're saying is, Obama lied. Just say it.Most of the prisoners have been removed and those few left are people we can't find a place for.

Wrong. There are tons of links I could post about how rendition is still taking place, but hell, why not post one from the same liberal slanted newspaper you used as your source.A bit off the mark on this, boyo. So, why are they not creating jobs? They've had this tax cut for years. It's like the greedy bastards are just pocketing the money.Nevermind wrote:So tax cuts for job creators under Bush= horrible.MasterOfMeatPuppets wrote:He's looking out for us. No, but it's better than the rest of us taking it in the ass. It's a little thing called compromise.Extending those same tax cuts under Obama= Great idea, and what it takes to keep Republicans from fucking us over again.
Ladies and gentlemen, the liberal brain at work, barely,
Things sometimes do not work out the way one expects and they're still working on it. No due process? Nigga, please. So what you're saying is, Obama lied. Just say it.Most of the prisoners have been removed and those few left are people we can't find a place for.He said he's close it in his first 100 days, remember? Of course you don't. Why can't we find a place for them? Why don't we just bring them to your city, give 'em some constitutional rights, and put them on trial in the criminal court system. You should be outraged that King Obama continues to hold these poor terrorists without due process.
My bad, but still no torture.Wrong. Re: Obama to keep Bush tax cuts in place for all taxpayers.
No, but they are sitting on the money. Why would they hire more workers and invest in their own company, when they know there is a tax hike on the way coming Jan 1, 2011. Not to mention Obamacare, where a large company will have to provide health care coverage for all of their employees. Because of last months election, we won't have to worry about a lot of this bullshit.MasterOfMeatPuppets wrote: So, why are they not creating jobs? They've had this tax cut for years. Let me turn this around on you and ask you how raising taxes on employers as Obama really wanted to do, and forcing them to provide heath insurance to their workers, would create jobs?
So he lied. Got it.Things sometimes do not work out the way one expects and they're still working on it.
My bad, but still no torture.
You're bad?

No you can't
Re: Obama to keep Bush tax cuts in place for all taxpayers.
If the Republicans didn't basically threaten to fully destroy the economy if he didn't extend them. I would say he did do it to kepp America from being fucked.Nevermind wrote:So tax cuts for job creators under Bush= horrible.

What tax hike? Now that there won't be a 'tax hike', they can stop 'sitting on their money'. Now it's time for you to start working on your next excuse for Republican failure. As for 'Obamacare', companies large and small already offer health insurance to their employees. They have for decades.Nevermind wrote:No, but they are sitting on the money. As you're a Republican, I can understand your simple minded inability to understand truth, lies and the difference therein. So he lied. Got it.Things sometimes do not work out the way one expects and they're still working on it.

From the article you cited:My bad, but still no torture.
You're bad? It's funny that you have such faith in foreign countries to believe that they don't torture any of the people King Obama ships over to them for .............wait for it...............enhanced interrogation.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/25/us/po ... .html?_r=1
The Obama administration will continue the Bush administration’s practice of sending terrorism suspects to third countries for detention and interrogation, but pledges to closely monitor their treatment to ensure that they are not tortured, administration officials said Monday.
In an article in Foreign Affairs in the summer of 2007, Mr. Obama wrote, “To build a better, freer world, we must first behave in ways that reflect the decency and aspirations of the American people.”
Mr. Obama continued, “This means ending the practices of shipping away prisoners in the dead of night to be tortured in far-off countries, of detaining thousands without charge or trial, of maintaining a network of secret prisons to jail people beyond the reach of the law.” In January, the president ordered secret prisons run by the C.I.A. to be shut down.
The administration officials, who discussed the changes on condition that they not be identified, said that unlike the Bush administration, they would operate more openly and give the State Department a larger role in assuring that transferred detainees would not be abused.
“The emphasis will be on ensuring that individuals will not face torture if they are sent overseas,” said one administration official, adding that no detainees would be sent to countries known to conduct abusive interrogations.
The officials said all interrogations would comply with guidelines contained in the Army Field Manual, which outlaws the use of physical force. The group will study interrogation methods, however, and may add additional noncoercive methods in the future, the officials said.
You really should read beyond the headlines.Tom Malinowski of Human Rights Watch said the new interrogation policy represented a significant step toward more humane treatment, though he expressed dismay that administration officials failed to impose stricter limits on rendition.
But he praised the Obama administration’s overall approach to difficult counterterrorism issues, saying the government had adopted “some of the most transparent rules against abuse of any democratic country.”
