Which means you are sure of this?

You're an idiot. Federal spending was 2.98 trillion in 2008. 2.98 x 100/73 = 4.08 trillion. According to you, federal spending has not even kept pace with inflation under Obama since spending in 2012 is 3.8 trillion. You claim a annual rate of inflation of 10.1% since inauguration day. Spending has only increased 6.2% a year from 08 through 2012. So according to your silly graphic, after adjusting for inflation, spending has decreased 4% a year under Obama.

You are simply a liar. It takes 1.09 to purchase what 1.01 could purchase on inauguration day, not 1.00 to purchase what 73 cents could purchase. The annual rate of inflation since inauguration day is 2.37%, not 10.1%.

You are also cherry picking gas prices in a very dishonest manner. Gas prices crashed with the economy you idiot. Over 4 years, gasoline has risen 3.1% which gives an annual rate of inflation over 4 years of .77%. The CPI over 4 years is 1.4%. Again, prices crashed with the economy in 2008.

May 2008: Gas prices 124.5
May 2012: 128.4

annual rate of inflation over 4 years: .77%

May 2008: 103.1
May 2012: 109.2

annual rate of inflation over 4 years: 1.4%

Rebounding prices are a symptom of economic recovery. They are a consequence of increased economic activity.

You said you lived in New York which will go for Obama so it does not matter. You don't count for shit in this election.

BTW, 200% increase means triple. 100% means double. 200% increase in gas prices would be national average price of $5.43/gallon since the national average was $1.81 in Jan 2009.

Oh, yeah, I know. I could vote for anyone and my state is still going for Obama.

No surprise there.

The last time though I voted in a swing state, which may not vote for him this time.

In the end, I'm comfortable with the idea that if he wins this time I won't be one of his supporters

By the way, why are all of your graphs from imageshack?

Is there some rule here about hot linking?

Who am I supporting?

No one.

This might be the first presidential election I ever sit out.

Or I'll find an independent I feel like voting for.

Is he too liberal for you or not liberal enough? He's dealing with a hostile Congress. Clinton's first term wasn't awesome either.

It's sort of funny how Clinton was able to work with a Republican congress more so than with a congress filled with members from his own party.

Well, until they tried to impeach him, but before that they actually made a more effective team.

That's a real stretch from how I remember it and I wasn't even a big fan of his.
