This is illogical. The McCain/Palin rallies featured a vocal minority of batshit crazies, just like the Teabagger rallies, and that vocal minority made/make the rest of them look terrible. The majority in both groups is reasonable and somewhat sane, albeit completely misinformed.

And Crazy Levi is 100 percent correct when he says McCain "enlisted" them, because he and Palin incited the jackassery with their divisive and misleading rhetoric in the same way that John Boner and Nutcase Bachmann have done.

They are one and the same. The idiots at the McCain/Palin rallies needed to organize, and they did, with the help of Fox news. Now they are the Tea Party.

A loud minority of people who will succeed at nothing besides taking votes away from the Republicans.

Actually, if this is indeed the work of the tea party, it is pretty scary. I hope the republicans will be eager to label this as an act of terrorism.

OK, blog time...

So you're saying that the Democrats fed the CBO with the wrong information or what? I don't get your point. The bill as it was passed is projected by the CBO to reduce the deficit by between 1 and 1.5 trillion over the next 20 years. You can't just claim that won't be the case because you don't like the bill.

This part is always fun.

Social security = 20 percent
Unemployment = 16 percent
Medicare = 13 percent
Medicaid = 8 percent
Interest on the debt = 5 percent
Veterans' Affairs = 1.5 percent

That is 63.5 percent of the budget that is spent automatically without the President or Congress having any control over it. You try to cut any of those things and there will be rioting. Now try and explain how you'd balance the budget without letting the Bush-era tax cuts expire. This Teabagger pie-in-the-sky concept of cutting taxes and then cutting spending and somehow balancing the budget is pure fantasy, because the only place you could possibly save money is defense - and ironically the teabaggers and lunatic fringe Republicans love their wars (and they sure spend a lot of time blaming Clinton for gutting the military).

My biggest concern these days is the spiraling deficit and ever expanding national debt of the United States. It will sink this country. It is simply unsustainable.
So we just do what almost every other nation on Earth has done, and done to us in particular: repudiate the debt and start over. Fuck 'em, what are they gonna do? We can feed ourselves and get most of our oil from Canada. Pull all our troops home and let the world learn to get along amongst itself, or let them fight. Not our business.

Oh yeah, other countries make a lot of military spare parts. So we tool up and make them ourselves again. It's not as if it's beyond us, it's just cheaper to source foreign parts.

Being that the Chinese are the largest investors in Canadian oil now, and your largest creditors, that wouldnt happen

Clearly proving that the frustration is the same as it was during the 2008 elections...

So you're OK with that, then. Got it.

Like every U.S. president up until Jimmy Carter, right? All of them socialists.

Don't you stand to gain from this (assuming you don't make more than 250,000 bucks a year)? Why are you more concerned with the rich man's rights than everyone else's?
Maybe he doesn't make 250k, but he might someday and he doesn't want to give it all to you. You want to make it rich vs poor. Congrats. Rich people employ other people.

Fuck, we were just talking about this on another thread! You nailed it! The wealthy have convinced all of you conservative chumps to fight for their right to keep syphoning wealth from everyone else - including you! That's some racket they've got going there.

And at the end of the day, the CBO has analyzed this in detail and is about a million times more credible than you (which isn't even a shot at you. It's just logical).

The CBO > you (and me, and every other armchair quarterback who posts here)

Not really. I don't have any problem with people being rich. I just don't see why they should pay less and less taxes as time goes on, while everyone else pays more and more. Because that is exactly what has been happening since the 70s. Ninety nine percent of conservatives who defend the right of the wealthy to pay less taxes than everyone else will go to the grave never having become wealthy themselves.

And they sit in their mansions and laugh at you and Roadhead. Let's be honest, you two are their bitches!

I've explained this in exhaustive detail time and again. I will not waste my time. You know what I've written and have yet to credibly refute it.
What the fuck? Why should I have to refute your inane interpretations of data provided by a respected, non-partisan institution?

Politfact.org says the CBO's analysis is correct. Your analysis is inferior to theirs, sorry to break it to you.

You'd certainly know.

Illusions of grandeur. I think all conservatives suffer from this. They think that through sheer force of will they are always right, even in the face of full on fail.
