Palin calls for Revolution against Obama administration

Post by SmokingGun »

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8498688.stm

'I believe in this movement ... America is ready for another revolution,' she said as the crowd roared its approval.

Yeah she's a stupid broad yada yada yada.. but America is going down shit creek with a leader more out of touch with politics than nearly any US president before him, with the exclusion of Bush II. He is so utterly clueless about reality it's frightening. A high IQ doesn't make him smart, just intelligent. Big difference.

But yeah, he can read teleprompters really well.

As long as Palin is just the shit-stirrer and not given any real political power, she has an important role to play. Someone has to call that useless idiot Obama out on all this bullshit before the point of no return is reached.. which is not far off.

If that shit sandwich of a post you just made in the deficit thread is any indication, then you probably aren't the right guy to judge.

Obama may as well live on another planet, that's how out of touch he is with reality.

You've made two posts now in the deficit thread that are absolutely littered with fallacies, and I have provided the links to back that up.

You are not the guy to decide who is out of touch with reality.

You might have a better grip on reality if you read something other than left-wing sites.

The United States are fast going down the shitter, and are soon to be China's bitch. You won't find many educated economists disagreeing with that. It's fact.

So let me get this straight, I refuted every single one of your fallacies with information that is easy to find on politfact.com and counter your hysteria on the deficit with an editorial by a Nobel Prize-winning economist, and you respond with yet another vague, hysteria-laced opinion on the economy.

Either back up your assertions with some reputable sources or you're just another chump spewing bullshit you heard on Fox News.

So are you saying:

a) America *isn't* going down the shitter faster than ever?
b) America *isn't* mired in debt more than ever before?
c) America *isn't* China's bitch?

Because if you are, you may as well move to Planet Obama, where theory reigns supreme, and reality is a mere annoyance.

a) America *isn't* going down the shitter faster than ever?

- That's exactly what I'm saying. America is in a very tough position, brought on by unwise fiscal policies and the Wall Street crash (triggered by financial deregulation). But the reality is that things aren't as bad as you have been led to believe. If you actually did read Paul Krugman's article, you'd know that all this hysteria about the deficit is being triggered by pre-midterm-election posturing.

b) America *isn't* mired in debt more than ever before?

- Yes, and 10.5 trillion of it was piled up by the Republicans. Why in God's name are you getting all hysterical about Obama, who is actually taking relatively responsible actions during the current crisis?

c) America *isn't* China's bitch?

- Again, this is hysteria. Over the long term something needs to be done about the deficit, but your "America is in the shitter and Obama is an idiot!!!1" hyperbole is completely off base.

I'm glad you're optimistic. That's great. But I'm more grounded. The deficit should be America's #1 priority now. This could totally sink us, and it will if it keeps going like this. It has reached epic proportions, no matter how the 'respected' economists (who didn't see the warning signs and let the global financial crisis happen) spin it.

You're preaching to the choir regarding the Republicans, they created the housing bubble, which then went on to become the crisis we have today. But (over)spending is no way to get out of a deficit. Not according to my economic school of thought.

But the China scenario isn't just doom and gloom. When the government can't pay back it's debt, what is going to happen? Or are we just hoping we can pay it back? China will have it's pound of flesh, mark my words.

You do realize that Palin's hyperbole is just that, right? It's about getting republicans elected in November.

You know what, if Paul Krugman tells me not to worry about it and that it's just pre-midterm-election posturing, then I'm inclined to believe him. I have not doubt you're a good guy and I have no problem at all with you, but as far as I'm concerned you're just a Chicken Little on a message board, while people with infinitely more expertise than you are more relaxed about this.

And you're wrong again, plenty of economists were predicting that the housing bubble would lead to economic disaster - including Paul Krugman!!
In August 2005, after Alan Greenspan expressed concern over housing markets, Krugman criticized Greenspan's earlier reluctance to regulate the mortgage and related financial markets, arguing that "[he's] like a man who suggests leaving the barn door ajar, and then – after the horse is gone – delivers a lecture on the importance of keeping your animals properly locked up."[103]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Krugman

You're just throwing out one misinformed blanket statement after another with nothing to back them up. So yeah, I'm hesitant to join in on the mass hysteria you are advocating here.

What, can't you be both grounded AND optimistic? Or, if not optimistic, at least not pessimistic? How can you claim to be "grounded" when you're throwing out doomsday scenarios? That's hysterical, not grounded. Yeah, things suck in America right now, but I believe we will get through it. Not because of who is in office or who is in power, but because the system, fucked up as it is, will eventually right itself. I'm not wearing rose-colored glasses, but I'm also not crying about the sky falling.

Back on topic of the thread: (sorta) right message, (definitely) wrong messenger. I have nothing against Palin, but quitting her post like she did certainly disqualifies her (at least in my mind) for spreading the message of revolution. She can't even finish a job she campaigned for and was elected to do; why should we trust her to spearhead a revolution?

I look at Palin as Gandhi looked at Jesus. I don't mind Palin, but her fan club members are dangerously stupid.

McCain would be faring no better right now and anyone thinking different is a bigger fool than she is.

Remember back when you were a kid, and there would be a scene on the playground that went something like this: there would be a kid who didn't get enough, or any, attention. He was kinda stupid and didn't do well in class. So, one day he decided to make a big scene, and call out somebody who was doing much better than him in class. The people who were smarter than this kid wondered "What is this guy talking about?" The people who were as dumb or dumber than this kid shouted "That's right, he's an idiot! You told him!"

Politics is a lot like grade school.

Great, maybe she will cross the line with her hyperbole and can run for President from prison like Eugene Debs.

My favorite part is when she pokes fun at Obama for using *gasp* a teleprompter, while she is clearly using crib notes. She's a bigger moron than ZVD.

Would she actually field questions from a room full of reporters in an elementary school?

I sort of doubt that, if a question like "What newspapers do you read" was too much for her.

He was elected because the bitch's entire campaign against him was "vote for me so you're not voting for Scott Brown." She had no fucking substance. He's not much better, but thae whole election was a was a choice between a shit and the peanut.

Palin does not have enough credibility to call him out.
There's plenty of people calling him out for his actions, including many of those who voted for him, and people who actually absorbed their college education.

"We need a commander in chief, not a professor of law". In other words, we need a war-monger, not an educated professional with restraint and reason.

Look, I voted for the guy. I'm not happy about what he's done, I hate the health care bill, I feel like I fell for another fucking scam and honestly I think he's just another fucking puppet set to distract us from what's really going on in world leadership.

You're looking at a really small picture from the moose-hunter's side of the door. You need to broaden your perspectives. I could have said much of what you did without looking like such a douche because I don't suggest that only the Palin-Poppers are concerned about the points you're trying to make.

Get off your partisan horse and look around.
