Latest Palin Idiocy: At least it wasn't a teleprompter

This, from Palin, who loves running with the moronic Republican talking point that that gosh darn Obama just can't go without a teleprompter.

You'd think Palin could get through a Q and A session with those idiots at the "Tea Party" without writing shit like "Energy...Lift America's Spirits" on her palm but I'd guess you'd be wrong.

Whenever it looks bleak for Obama in 2012, you just have to remember who he's going to be running against. I wouldn't bet against a second term.

It's too funny that she seemed to use it during the Q&A. I would think an outline (on paper) would be allowed, and wanted, by most people for such a speech, but for the Q&A? She's getting 100,000 for this; you'd think she could've just drilled the thing into her head.

It's a big deal because moments before she looked at her hand during a QA with the tea party morons, she repeated one of her tired jokes about Obama and the teleprompter.

it's also a big deal because...holy fuck...come on man, it was a Q/A at the fucking tea party convention, and she needs to write this shit on her hand to deal with some softball questions that she'd probably been fed before the meeting?

She's a fucking dolt.

She wasn't writing talking points down or facts she'd otherwise forget.

Just a positive message to keep in mind.

It was a little elementary, I'll give you that.

Otherwise I still don't see a big deal. If you're going to get worked up over this you have to admit it's bush league (no pun intended) for the Great One himself to have to resort to reading off a TV screen during his sermons.

Although I don't think this is that big of a deal, I also don't understand the comparisons to Obama (and yes, I did think the teleprompters in the classroom were funny and too much). He's a president and, normally, they have lots to do and many speeches to give, while she on the other hand knew about the speech for months before and was just given a few softball questions during a Q&A. Even if you don't think that the president "won" his debate with the house Republicans, I would think you'd have to concede that he did hold his own--without notes. There’s really no comparing the rhetorical skills of two.

Obama speaks (generally) clearly and confidently, enunciates well. Really connects with the audience. I think he got a lot of people that were on the fence over with his debate performances. He exudes confidence. Bush was constantly fumbling over words, grinning because he couldn't pronounce things, etc. That's a better comparison than Palin.

Palin, on the other hand, is definitely charismatic but I think lacks the confidence that Obama has. And when she tries to show some semblance of it she comes across more as arrogant, which of course seems funnier because so many people think she's a dolt.

I don't kill Obama for using teleprompters - I don't care! I really don't. I can't imagine having to speak in front of thousands of people, let alone millions on TV. Yeah, doing it in front of school kids might be a bit much. But surely we have more important shit to worry about, all around, than Obama using teleprompters and Sarah Palin writing stuff on her hand. WHO CARES.

I don't see the big deal either. Those were the three points she wanted to make sure to bring across and not be derailed by other questions in the Q&A. No biggie.

That being said, she is a hypocrite and she does need to stop criticizing Obama for using the teleprompter. That's a pattern with her though - whether it's writing on her hand, feigning outrage about Rahm Emanuel's use of the word retard while failing to engage Rush Limbaugh on it (and even more hypocritically, apparently calling her own kid "my little retard" according to Levi Johnston), or railing against the liberal elite while blowing a hundred thousand bucks of campaign money on shopping.

Please, please nominate her in 2012 Republicans.

I despise her, but that said, she is physically attractive..one of the most attractive female pols out there.

Other than that? I don't either. But I am not a tea-bagger..so there's that.

I've said it before, the whole moose killer, fishin' momma meme annoys the living fuck out of me. She (and her followers) act like that's something only righteous wingnuts would do..certainly not liberals (and believe it or not, there are even Liberals in Alaska)....as I look around our house with the various racks, guns and X-tra Tuffs about. And resigning from her governorship? Yeah, that's impressive...

A party that knows no matter how bad Obama handles the next three years, he's virtually unbeatable. He's like a rock star. He has the youth vote and the minority vote. Two groups that normally don't show up. Bank on his re-election, even with the status quo. Now, if an another terrorist attack happens and he botches it, he may be in trouble. But seriously, the Pub's have no one to match his popularity.

A few days ago polls had the Rock Star losing to Huckabee and Romney. They had him beating Palin. Just saying.

They will for the actual election. No one the Republicans could nominate will be able to siphon off the youth and minority vote from him. Certainly not Palin.

What makes you believe the youth vote will be out in force for a democrat three years from now when they're not even coming out for any democrat a year into it?
Because that's always what happens. The minority vote didn't even turn up for the Senatorial runoff in Georgia a mere month after the 2008 election, because it's much more difficult to get incumbent voters out in by-elections. The opposition party always has the advantage in non-regular-election years, because the butt-hurt vote always turns up in larger numbers.

Oh yeah, and was Obama on the ballot in any of the three elections you mentioned?

I'm thinking the Democrats should all just retire. the idea that any Democrat in the US will ever win another election is ludicrous.

I'm surprised Obama hasn't resigned yet, frankly.

Because a lot of people don't give a shit about elections that aren't "super bowl" events like the Presidential ones.

You are a fool if you really think you got this shit won already. Obama is gonna be tough to beat.

Obama will be VERY tough to beat, especially if they run Palin. He'll probably lose some of the "messiah" vote. The idiots who thought he was going to pay all their bills etc, and the right will pick up more votes from the tea baggers contingent, but he should win an election that is much closer than the last one was. A lot can happen between now and then, but odds are the economy will be vastly improved and that will be enough.

He's gonna lose that group of people that just voted for him to be "part of history" in electing the first black President.

Also, I'd be curious to see how he does with black voters in the next go-round.

Yeah, he'll lose some of it. He may lose the voters that got out last time who normally don't vote. You know, the kind that bought Obama commemorative plates at Walgreens, but he'll still carry most of the centrist vote if the GOP runs Palin.

I know blacks traditionally vote Dem anyway. I'm saying I wonder if they'll be bothered to actually come out like they did last year.

And if Palin is the GOP nominee this discussion is all for naught anyway.

Black people aren't really as stupid as you think. It's quite possible that the ones who voted last year might have caught the hang of it, and vote again. Obama is still gonna be black, he's still gonna be popular, and there might be more of them showing up to your polling places to ask "where the voting be at" or whatever it was you lamented seeing them do in 2008, right before you cast your educated white vote while they were casting their dumb negro vote.

Obama benefited from the same type of youth vote movement that Clinton benefited from the first time around. The demographics may be skewed a bit due to that whole "first black president" thing, but once the novelty wears off, it's politics as usual. If the dems are counting on that vote to get them over the top again, they'd be making a mistake IMO. I think Obama is in the driver's seat, but I think it will be much closer depending on who the GOP runs. He could lose, easily. I don't think he will, but it's not a slam dunk by any means.

Yeah Levi Johnston is a good credible source of information there. Sarah Palin is not the only Republican. The media is doing a damned good job keeping her in the news despite them saying that they want her to to go away but they wont let her. Most of the Republicans hate her so she wont have a chance.

You might be surprised.

http://forex.daemonnews.org/forex/85-po ... nt-in.html

A new Gallup poll released Thursday showed that while more Americans view former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a negative light, her approval rating has improved somewhat.

According to the poll, which surveyed 1,025 adults December 11 - 13, 47% of Americans view Palin in a negative light compared to 44% who have a positive view of her. This compares to the 50% who had a negative view of her and 40% who had a positive view of her in an October poll.

Palin's popularity among Republicans has increased since the October poll, with 79% now having a favorable opinion of her compared to 69% in October.

Her popularity has even increased among Democrats, with 21% now having a favorable view of her compared to 14% in the October poll. Only among independents has her popularity declined, from 41% in October to 40% in the latest poll.

Meanwhile, the poll also found a slight increase in President Barack Obama's favorability. In the October poll, 55% of those surveyed had a favorable view of Obama compared to 42% with an unfavorable view. In the latest poll, 56% now have a favorable view of Obama, while 42% still say they have an unfavorable view of him.
Sorry to bust your bubble, Count, but only 1.025 adults were surveyed. That is in no way a solid representation of his approval rating the country over. it's a slight differencefrom the last thousand or so people who they surveyed. BIG FUCKING DEAL.

If i run a restaurant, make a new chili, and give it free to a thousand people in NYC, then a thousand more the next day, I'm gonna have SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT OPINIONS given to the chili.

It's the problem with all the fucking "polls" done on CNN and FAUX NEWS, they only survey the few people who bother to call in their votes, people who are already watching the network.

As far as Palin goes, she'll have a good fight if she runs with Romney or some other DoucheSack of equal tarndness, but the Libertarian party is gaining strength this time too, and she's definately going to lose votes to them is RP runs again.
