Sarah Palin says: target WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange like the Taliban

Wikileaks is the best thing to happen to the internet since the internet. For too long the common pleb has to been fed the 'news' (ie biased bullshit) from twp sources: the government and their bum-chums the corporations. It's going to be even more interesting when Wikileaks starts releasing corporate leaks.

If it serves to enlighten people that corporations have become the de facto world government for at least the last twenty years, then the leaks will have been the most important journalistic product in my lifetime. If they help people understand that we are living in a post-government, post-sovereignty world where the corporation is the only meaningful power (and help people act accordingly) then 20 years from now, we will look back at Wikileaks as the most important development in the history of the Internet.

Or, we'll look back as Wikileaks being the end of the Internet.

Anyway, given the success they've had with catching the Taliban, Assange should have at least a good 8-9 years ahead of him.

I don't think so. Whoever passed the information has broken secrecy laws, but I don't think that you break any laws by hosting them. The US government are considering whether they can charge him with espionage however.

No. The government has no espionage case with Assange and they know it. They had no case when they charged Ellsberg either in '72. They don't even have an espionage case with Bradley Manning, one of the guys that leaked it. Manning broke other laws which he will have to deal with, I think he was at peace with that before he chose to do this. All this posturing from the right is ridiculous. And the left's complacency over what these documents confirm is detestable. Can't criticize The One's administration, no no no.
