Wikileaks is the most important world event since 9-11

Post by JStar »

I Hope Palin, O'reilly, Huckabee et al. are all fucking hunted down and executed (Just repaying the favour from these great believers in democracy and freedom)

Assange is a hero.... the lies and propaganda of the USA and their bullshit foreign policy is now exposed for all to see...... I am proud to be an Australian and I am proud of Julian Assange and what he has achieved..... Listen to your right-wing fucks calling for the guy to be killed, calling him Taliban...... I saw that video of your "finest" popping off civilians in Iraq and laughing about it, acting like they are playing a video game..... I hope they get life for that (it is war crimes you know) the sympathy of 9-11 is still as deserved as ever (THE Darkest day of my life.... even though I was on the other side of the world) but that doesnt give your goverment and armed forces the right to invade other countries on the foundation of lives and driven by revenge and oil. The American propaganda machine to its own citizens through your main media outlets is on par with the Nazi propaganda before and during WW2.... Our own PM called for the arresting and charge on Assange even hough there is no legal grounds and our people responded and she has succumbed to the pressure and retracted and now is offerring full rights as an australian citizen.... As an american ally I am disgusted that we have gone into wars and put our soldiers at risk for your BULLSHIT..... Mr Assange is the most important person in the world right now..... You're right wing crazies may get him.... but at least it will come out..... I mean, America are real fucking great at covering things up now LOL!!!

it's not just the right than want to bring him down. it's everyone living the high life of a politician off the public purse. assange leans more to the RIGHT not left you dumb skip!

wait for someone to 'die' by due to one of the leaks and watch the massive public backlash.

there are no lengths governments (and soon, corporations) will not go to to stop wikileaks. killing assange won't stop it, but make a few patriotic, innocent people who are fighting for merica to die by false flag attacks and things will change a bit.

the interesting thing is wikileaks FINALLY pits governments directly against big media. big media stands to make billions from these leaks, and won't be able to help themselves and will publish anti-government articles because the $$ are too damn good. advocates for the (true) freedom of the press are in bliss right now.

go wikileaks, go!

As opposed to those dying from bullshit wars their government put them in.... I think the people will see through any claim of Wikileaks causing deaths... the politicians will try and get mileage out of it but they are all painted with the same brush and no one believes a word that comes out of their mouths except the hicks who watch Fox News..... and they're too busy fucking their cousins to do anything

I see nothing wrong with WikiLeaks leaking gov't documents. When the gov't spies on the American people it's fine, but when we spy on the government and demand transparency from the government, the government fires up the corporate media propaganda machine and start attacking free speech. We've already heard about this cyber bullying anti-free speech nonsense. Just another excuse for the gov't to crack down on free speech and police the internet.

I don't believe for one second that a single buck private could be capable of stealing these documents on his own. I have no doubt that there are many more people on the inside that were involved.

I would like to know why Saudi Arabia is funding terrorism around the world? This is supposedly our closest ally in the middle east. Thanks to WikiLeaks the American people know this.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/de ... st-funding

I've known about this for some time now. Here's another article about Saudi Arabia funding terrorism in Macedonia:

From The Sunday Times
March 28, 2010
Saudis fund Balkan Muslims spreading hate of the West
Bojan Pancevski in Skopje

SAUDI ARABIA is pouring hundreds of millions of pounds into Islamist groups in the Balkans, some of which spread hatred of the West and recruit fighters for jihad in Afghanistan.

According to officials in Macedonia, Islamic fundamentalism threatens to destabilise the Balkans. Strict Wahhabi and Salafi factions funded by Saudi organisations are clashing with traditionally moderate local Muslim communities.

Fundamentalists have financed the construction of scores of mosques and community centres as well as handing some followers up to £225 a month. They are expected not only to grow beards but also to persuade their wives to wear the niqab, or face veil, a custom virtually unknown in the liberal Islamic tradition of the Balkans.

Government sources in traditionally secular Macedonia (official title the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), said they were monitoring up to 50 Al-Qaeda volunteers recruited to fight in Afghanistan.

Classified documents seen by The Sunday Times reveal that Macedonian officials are also investigating a number of Islamic charities, some in Saudi Arabia, which are active throughout the Balkans and are suspected of spreading extremism and laundering money for terrorist organisations.

One of the groups under scrutiny is the International Islamic Relief Organisation from Saudi Arabia, which is on a United Nations blacklist of organisations backing terrorism. It did not respond to inquiries, but has previously denied involvement in terrorist activities, calling such claims “totally unfounded”.

According to its website, it works in 32 countries to provide relief to the victims of natural disasters and to carry out humanitarian, health and educational projects.

“Hundreds of millions have been poured into Macedonia alone in the past decade and most of it comes from Saudi Arabia,” said a government source. “The Saudis’ main export seems to be ideology, not oil.”

Sulejman Rexhepi, leader of the Islamic community in Macedonia, said a number of mosques had been forcibly taken over by radical groups. Four in central Skopje are no longer under the control of the official Islamic authorities. New imams claim they have been “spontaneously” installed by the “people”.

“Their so-called Wahhabi teachings are completely alien to our traditions and to the essence of Islam, which is a tolerant and inclusive religion,” said Rexhepi.

In some mosques believers are being told that Macedonia, which sent 200 soldiers to Iraq and Afghanistan, has been tricked into supporting a crusade against Islam spearheaded by Britain and America. Radical clerics have shown footage from Afghanistan, Iraq and the Palestinian territories to illustrate their claims that the West is waging war on Islam.

Rahman, a 35-year-old cab driver from Skopje, Macedonia’s capital, said he had stopped going to his local mosque since it was taken over by extremists. “Following the Haiti earthquake the new imam said God would punish the West for their wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with natural disasters,” he said.

Bekir Halimi, an imam trained in Syria, runs Bamiresia, an Islamic charity that has been investigated for alleged terrorist links and money laundering. Police raided its offices but failed to find any evidence of terrorist links.

“We are fully entitled to receive funding from both governmental and non-governmental organisations from Saudi Arabia,” said Halimi, who refuses to name the sources of his funding but rejects any suggestion of criminal activity.

Macedonia’s law enforcement agencies warn that the European Union and America have failed to recognise the growing problem of Islamic extremism in the Balkans.

Baroness Ashton, the EU foreign policy chief, has declared stability in the region to be her top priority, but local politicians complain that the EU and Nato are reducing their presence in troublespots such as Bosnia and Kosovo.

Last month, Bosnian security forces raided a village strongly influenced by Salafi extremists and found a weapons cache.

In raids elsewhere rifles, bombs and rocket-propelled grenades have been uncovered.

The West has put considerable political and financial efforts into helping build democracy in Bosnia following its civil war in the 1990s. Saudi organisations have also asserted considerable influence, giving more than £450m to build more than 150 mosques and Islamic centres.

In Macedonia, Fatmir, a former disc jockey, explained how he became an adherent of Salafism. The father of two has grown a beard and instructed his wife to wear a niqab. He now makes his living by selling Islamist literature. “Ours is the Islam of the 21st century,” he said.

I think we're going to see (if we haven't already) more people with access to even more sensitive documents joining the "wikimovement" as time goes on. It's definitely an interesting time in American history to witness.

Im cool with what Assange is doing. All these politicians always campaign on transparancy. Well Assange is just fulfilling those promises for them. Plus we are a democracy. If we are ran by the people for the people, shouldnt the people have access to all of our information?

So documents were just leaked proving that the US government has been conspiring to "attack" and "retaliate" against European markets and diplomats for not allowing genetically modified food products to be forced upon their people.

http://www.truth-out.org/wikileaks-us-a ... -corn66131

Shit like this could mean serious repercussions from the EU. I wonder what effect any legal action in response to such a conspiracy could have on the average american? If our gov't is held responsible for such things, surely they'll make the people absorb as much of the punishment ($$) as possible?

I'm sure they already knew. France has competent intelligence agencies. Regardless, what would they do? Nuke Iowa?

Yea France and everyone else knows that our govt does shady things, but If it comes to light that our govt has committed the sort of crime that Europe really wants to hold anyone accountable for, through a judicial process even, I think our govt would do all it can to avoid taking the punishment. If our dollar is suddenly not recognized as the World Reserve Currency anymore, the effect would be immediately felt by everyone here. But if we somehow got sued over something major...It's hard to explain because I've never seen it happen. It's like, your big sister gets grounded, and she finds an excuse to make your life hell. I feel like we're living in a house run by a bunch of selfish greedy fuckheads who would rather see us die than give up anything of their own.

Sorry if that's not making much sense.

The ambassador recommended retaliation and the higher-ups decided not to do so. There was no 'conspiracy' nor was there a crime nor will there be lawsuits. This kind of tit for tat shit goes on all the time between countries.
