The rapid decline of the economy shortly after manufacturing was all but abolished still seems unimportant to the rapidly sinking western economies. Shuffling paper and transactions around is necessary, but you don't build an economy on it, unlike the western world still seems to think. Neither do you build an economy on fads like Myspace, Facebook etc which come and go, all while becoming increasingly reliant on China for tangible goods, things people NEED.

Since trade was opened between the two countries, China got rich, while the USA got poor. The USA still gives many millions in foreign aid to China, even though we owe them gazillions. The USA is dumb dumb dumb dumb. Let's watch as key infrastructure around the world is bought up everywhere from Laos to Australia to Africa's mini Chinese colonies to America. Your kids are going to ask you why you did nothing to stop it. Only Europe is a bit smarter. For now anyway.

But America? Dumb dumb dumb dumb.. Clinton started it, Bush accelerated it, Obama stands by like a fool and does nothing to stop it. The mass transferal of wealth and power in a short 15 years.. both from the US to China, and from the middle class to the upper class.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/2 ... tml#218521

If you voted Obama or McCain, you are dumb dumb dumb dumb. Independents are the only hope.

Times have changed and for the worst as much as i feel like my parents are talking through me with that statement i know it is true. Look around. People can't even go to Wal Mart without a shooting. It is just ridiculous the times we are living in. I just dunno. There is no freedom, not even the inside of your head anymore. We have lost so many rights and ppl just don't even have a clue. Most ppl walk around not realizing shit or choosing to ignore it. I guess that is safe. I ignore the news because i can't stand to hear about all the bad news.

Yep, if the media doesn't tell us it's a big deal, it's not a big deal and not worth discussing.

I'm sure the trillions in debt will just be a non-issue soon enough. It'll sort itself out.

I like when people assume that because you don't agree with them and share their bleak worldview, that you must be ill-informed or have your head in the sand.

Read what I wrote dude.. I said 'discuss', not 'agree with me'.

It seems a lot of people don't have an opinion about an issue unless the media tells them to.

Edit: For example, you could have written:

"A lot of economists are saying that China is facing a crash because inflation is spiralling out of control at a rate of 4%-6% per month, and food prices alone rising 8% per month, so your prediction of them taking over the world is premature as they could well be facing a shitstorm of epic proportions when their population can't afford to feed itself".

You know, something of substance. Anything but the boring and predictable ad hominem retorts.

People get tired of trying to separate the wheat from your hurricane of intellectual chaff.

When everyone has a problem with you, you need to consider that the problem may be you, not everyone else. In the 'muslim gang rape' case, you made several claims and have yet to provide any proof. No proof of a cover-up let alone any ethnic or religious considerations behind it. If you can't bring any intelligence to the table, you have no right to expect it of others.

Smokinggun, I want to agree with you on the decline of manufacturing. I'm too lazy to look anything up, so can you provide facts/data to back up how things have changed? There are probably more factors involved too, but this would be a good start.

I'm crying with you SmokingGun, I really am.

It's fun to debate politics but the winds of the world never please any of us.

I always thought it'd be cooler if that song sounded more like Blackout.
