Here are some of the things your House of Representatives did early this morning:
Voted to strip funding from just about every EPA project, including air quality, emissions, and water pollution monitoring.
Defunded NOAA
Stripped funds to administer the Affordable Care Act.
Eliminated funds for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
Continued $53 billion in oil subsidies
Tried to eliminate Davis-Bacon rules for government projects (that failed)
Stripped federal workers of their salaries in positions within agencies targeted for defunding
Of course, yesterday they defunded Planned Parenthood, FCC allocations for enforcement of Net Neutrality rules, and the entire Affordable Care Act.
They also managed to pass a budget 235-189 after the sorriest bunch of bullshit debate I've have ever observed.
The vote was down party lines, with the exception of 3 Republicans who voted against it. The most entertaining part of the whole entire screwed-up process was watching Republicans make love to Big Oil while the whole world watched.
Oh, note to you Tea Party types...hahahahaha!!!! They only managed to cut $60 billion. Broken promises, broken promises. And so soon in your young reign of terror.
I hope it was good for them and you. I felt screwed without even so much as a kiss on the cheek.

It has to go through Senate first and then the president, neither of which is likely. It will, however, give the republicans plenty of talking points about how they're trying to make cuts and the dems won't let them. And as usual, the dems will look like idiots and have no appropriate response.
I wrote a bit about it:

I think the defunding of Planned Parenthood is the most venomous of the proposed cuts.

Agreed. I also read somewhere else that they wanted to defund WIC (Well Infant Care) and the like. Awesome. Defund Planned Parenthood and then also defund the very programs that help those unplanned babies get decent nutrition. I can't be bothered to even keep up with the House of Reps at this point, I value my health too much to get that angry...I walk the house around muttering "disgusting motherfuckers" far too much as it is.tin00can wrote:It has to go through Senate first and then the president, neither of which is likely. And they managed to symbolically cut 60 B, and yet Obama's budget actually calls for an INCREASE in the military budget...speaking of being disgusted....

I'm still not seeing the most important issue that got the Dems booted from power....JOBS. Hello!!!! They'll take the time to argue whether the rape of a tweener is "really" rape because her father didn't hold a gun to her head when he knocked her up....you know, the really important stuff. Jobs? It isn't as though they haven't had a couple of years to come up some kind of plan....but nooooo....they are too busy kissing the Tea Party's and at the same time Wall Street's ass.
Like I said, disgusted.

I have to disagree. Planned Parenthood is Eugenics renamed. Fuck them.
If they're really going to make a difference, cut the salaries of all Capitol Hill politicians, and make them take a year off of politics after one term so they spend their term working and not trying to get re-elected.

Don't be down on eugenics just because your mom beats you daily with the coathanger she wished she used when she had the chance.vanitybinge wrote:tin00can wrote:It has to go through Senate first and then the president, neither of which is likely.
