One of the first public intellectuals and activists to call for an end to the Vietnam War. King and his wife were integral to that movement and their contributions are often overlooked.

It means a day off, and white people bitching about how there isn't a "white history month" as if that's supposed to mean anything.
But King was great. Way ahead of his time in supporting things like living wages and good jobs, and of course he was way ahead of the curve in opposing Vietnam as Buttnoid eloquently pointed out.
