Chick-fil-A has agreed to stop funding groups with anti-same-sex marriage stances, according to a statement released Wednesday by LGBT advocacy group The Civil Rights Agenda.

Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno, who had blocked the fast-food chain from opening stores in Chicago because of its anti-gay views, likewise announced he would now let Chick-fil-A open up new outlets after he received a letter this morning from the company stating that they would cease donating to the groups.

"Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena," Chick-fil-A wrote in an emailed statement to NBC News. Civil Rights Agenda (CRA) and Moreno's office did not respond to emailed requests.

Yeah, totally lame.

The political stance of a fried chicken joint REALLY affects your life in many ways.

Hopefully, you'll be able to pick up the tattered pieces of your life, soldiering on quietly as yet another of your heroes fades into the sunset.

There's a time before, and a time after. Things will never be the same, but believe in yourself, and you can overcome anything.

Even this, my friend.

I seen some uber-Christians on the local news today who protested the earlier boycott, but were vowing to now "NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!" since the company decided not to promote either side..

We probably shouldn't take it too serious though, it was on a lamestream media outlet...

The liberal media overdubbed their dialogue to make them look bad..

I never understood the hatred towards gays, and the fact that it's 2012 it makes even less sense.

How the hell do the actions of two consenting adults (or more) in their own home concern you in anyway? If you're a Christian, God will take care of it when they're dead so why the fuck do some people think they need to take some form of action against them?

I never got it either. And I voted for Bush twice. The only argument I have heard that makes any sense to me is what you aluded to when you mentioned two (or more) adults. If we allow gay marriage how can we not allow Charlie Sheen to marry his two goddesses and acknolwledge it as fine and normal? Are polygamists less human than gays?

All that being said, I really can't stand the way people who are against it are treated. Its fucking scary the way this guy got treated for having an opinion. Just an opinion. He wasn't discriminating in his hiring or service.

Can you imagine if the people in some uber red state like Texas acted this way to, say, Ben & Jerry's because they support gay marriage?

"(Los Angeles 9/21/11) Ben & Jerry's, the ice cream maker famous for imaginatively-named specialty flavors like Cherry Garcia, Chunky Monkey and Magic Brownies, has done it again. Earlier this month, they introduced a new flavor they call Schweddy Balls. The name is a reference to a popular Saturday Night Live comedy sketch that starred Alec Baldwin and yes, they are aware of the double-entendre.
But not everybody's laughing. One Million Moms, a project of the American Family Association, the right-wing religious advocacy group* that underwrote Texas Governor Rick Perry's day-long Houston prayer-a-thon last month. They describe the new flavor's name as "vulgar" and "repulsive." They don't want to hear their kids (or anyone else's) asking for it at the supermarket so they're asking everyone to tell Ben & Jerry's not to distribute any more Schweddy Balls ice cream.

This is not the first time they've been upset by Ben & Jerry's either. From the One Million Moms "active issue" alert:
"In the past, Ben & Jerry's has released controversial ice creams, like a special edition of Chubby Hubby called Hubby Hubby last year which celebrated gay marriage. It seems that offending customers has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry's."

Ask anyone who is against gays or gay marriage and they will usually reply: "Because it's in the bible.."

Other than that they can give no logical reason as to why they're so concerned about discriminating against what two consenting adults do in their bedroom or their private lives.

It's like they're paranoid if they're given the same rights as other Americans that all of a sudden straight people will begin to turn gay..

it's a choice, remember? If it becomes easy to be gay, one day they might all choose to suck dicks and take a pole in the cornhole and turn away from the pussy. Consider how many Republicans that have already made that choice. It's a slippery slope, oozing with Astrolube.

Exactly!! If we let gays marry then we have to let men marry their sisters or their brothers or their brothers AND sisters at the same time! Then we have to let women marry their golden retrievers or their golden doodles or their golden retrievers AND golden doodles AT THE SAME TIME! Then we have to let men marry their toasters or vacuum cleaners or cars or their toasters, vacuums, and cars AT THE SAME TIME!! It is a slippery slope. Their is no end to it. The country will disintegrate. Our morals will collapse. Sin and evil will reign, our children will be fornicating in the street with animals!!

All because of Chik-fil-A, Ben And Jerry's and gay marriage.

I think you should be allowed to marry whatever the fuck you want (as long as children aren't involved). You want to marry your toaster? Okay. You want to marry your cat? Okay. You want to marry your sex doll? Okay.

It doesn't hurt anyone.

I find it funny as hell that the same people who believe in the "sanctity" of marriage do not believe that divorce should be made illegal.
