I love how both of these jerks are downplaying the Debates

Post by brotherplanet »

These two morons crack me the fuck up! "He might win, no He might win, no He might win, no He might win!"

This way when one of them wins the other one can say, "See? I told you he might win!"

Campaigns play debate expectations game

The Obama and Romney campaigns are seeking to manage -- and in some cases lower -- expectations for their candidate's performance in the first presidential debate.

CNN obtained a memo on Thursday circulated by Beth Myers, an adviser to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, that outlines several reasons why President Barack Obama may win the first of three scheduled encounters next Wednesday in Denver.

Obama, Myers wrote, "is a universally acclaimed public speaker and has substantial debate experience under his belt," referencing the Democrat's 2008 campaign against John McCain.

Myers also points to polls that showed Obama won those debates by "double-digit" margins and recent polls that show 25% of voters expect him to do better than Romney in their head-to-head meetings.

First on CNN: Romney memo seeks to lower debate expectations

Obama advisers threw out the first pitch in the expectations game on Sunday, with Robert Gibbs saying that Romney is primed for success following a string of debates during the rigorous campaign for the Republican nomination.

"Mitt Romney I think has an advantage, because he's been through 20 of these debates in the primaries over the last year," Gibbs said on Fox News. "He even bragged that he was declared the winner in 16 of those debates. So I think, in that sense, having been through this much more recently than President Obama, I think he starts with an advantage."

Traveling press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Monday on Air Force One that Romney has had more debate preparation "than any candidate in modern history."

"They've made clear that his performing well is a make-or-break piece for their campaign," Psaki said in an attempt to raise the stakes for Romney.

Both campaigns say they have the issues on their side.

"Based on the campaign he's run so far, it's clear that President Obama will use his ample rhetorical gifts and debating experience to one end: attacking Mitt Romney," Myers wrote. "Since he won't -- and can't -- talk about his record, he'll talk about Mitt Romney."

CNN Starting Point Host Soledad O'Brien asked Deleware Gov. Jack Markell on Friday whether polls showing high voter expectations for Obama in the debates could hurt the president

"Well, my guess is what people are really saying, they believe President Obama really understands their issues, their concerns. He's got a better plan for the future," said Markell, who also chairs the National Governor's Association.

There's more shit here...

Talk about TSA, talk about students being hungry at school, have an economic plan, talk about Obama giving Egypt and Lybia to al Quada, talk about Obama paling around with the KGB and Communists, how he flip flopped on the gay issue, doesnt want parades for the troop and didnt want to call them heros but called so rappers heros instead, George Soros ect...I would beat the fuck out of him so bad intellectually he would cry!

I'd ask him why he signed the NDAA in the middle of the night on New Years Eve and never once brought up indefinite detainment without trial to the American people before hand. Then I'd ask him why he extended the Patriot Act and why he said no to the pipe line that might have created thousands of jobs for actual Americans.

Then I'd ask Romney why he agrees with all of this shit too (except for the pipeline).

Obviously I'd be on the panel asking questions.

The detention provisions were "brought up to" the American people. You weren't paying attention.

So far as why he signed the bill, he answered that question already in a statement the White House published on their website when the bill was signed into law. The statement also explains the administration's position on indefinite detention. You never took a second to look at the White House statement before whining on the internet for months and months. Pretty sad.

Statement by the President on H.R. 1540
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-off ... nt-hr-1540

"I have signed the Act chiefly because it authorizes funding for the defense of the United States and its interests abroad, crucial services for service members and their families, and vital national security programs that must be renewed."

Also, signed "in the middle of the night on New Years Eve"? What's that supposed to mean? They published a statement on their website Dec 31,2011. You seem to suggest he was trying to sneak something by the public. They announced and explained the reason for signing when the bill was signed.

For Immediate Release

Already asked and answered.

"I think it is an important tool for us to continue dealing with an ongoing terrorist threat"
brotherplanet wrote: and why he said no to the pipe line that might have created thousands of jobs for actual Americans.
Asked and answered:

"the decision on the pipeline permit will be delayed until at least 2013, pending further environmental review"
