Same situation from the other thread only for those with more Democratic leanings..

First of all, what do you admire about or view as your reasons for supporting the party?

Has Obama done enough to help the economy and are you satisfied so far with his efforts?

Also do you think that the current administration actually cares about bi-partisanship and have attempted to work with the other side in fixing the country's problems?

While things have gotten much better since 2009, do you feel you've heard enough of Obama's plans if he is re-elected that he can turn the country around and do more to fix the economy?

Do you think Obama is too far left, more in the middle like Clinton or pandering too much to the right?

Do you think America has gotten soft and Obama has weakened the view of the US as a "Don't fuck with us" nation or do you think that we are still viewed as the sleeping lion and Obama would step into another war if pushed?

Do you think if Obama wins that the right will move closer to the middle in an attempt to work with the administration to fix the country or do you think there will continue to be more partisan politics from both sides?

While we all know that the economy is not going to be be back to full strength (or at least what we've come to know strong as) for all Americans in 4 or 8 more years, do you feel now that the first four years are about up, that if re-elected the "fixing Bush's mess" needs to be left behind and start taking responsibility for what needs to be done?

Do you think Romney is/was a good choice for the GOP to run and do you think he has the experience and could possibly do what he claims, but the trust level isn't quite there for you to commit to him?

Can the economy be fixed without some sort of tax raise?

Honest answer please: Do you feel there is a media bias towards the right?

Please give your side/views of Obama and why you will likely cast your vote for him..

There are several. First I want to say that for years I voted republican and I identified with the republican party, then I started actually paying attention and at the same time the republican party went off the fucking deep end. That said, I am extremely passionate about a woman's right to choose and I find some of the things the republicans are doing to dry to interfere with that not only incredibly wrong but jaw droppingly stupid. i also support gay rights and believe wholeheartedly that everyone is entitled to health care. I am tired of the rich/ corporations getting continued tax cuts and breaks while the middle class pays for everything.
schools are doing without while Exxon and BP get bigger and bigger tax breaks.

No he hasn't done enough and there is still a lot to be done, obviously. I think he is truly trying and the republicans have made it their goal to see him fail, even at the expense of the country.

I think he has tried but the republicans said at the very beginning their goal is to make him a one term president. Everyone needs to work together.

I think, like in 2008, he is being incredibly optimistic about what will actually get done. 1 million manufacturing jobs? Where is he going to pull them out of his ass? He is making promises again that he may not be able to keep.

No, I don't think we have gotten soft. How is using diplomacy first instead of going right to bombing the shit out of someone "going soft". We have stopped being the schoolyard bully. That is a good thing. I think he proved with the Somali pirates and Bin Laden, he has know problem authorizing force. And lets not forget that we are still bombing the hell out of remote mountain villages in Pakistan with our drones.

I hope so. I hope that since he will not be eligible for a third term that the right will start actually working with him trying to fix things a little faster.

Here is the thing, it IS Bush's mess. Obama has slowly started to turn the economy around but instead of giving him any credit people want to yell "it's not fast enough" or my favorite "it's all a conspiracy". If we had continued to lose jobs and things had gotten worse then it would be Obama's mess.

Good Lord, NO. I don't know where all the sane, moderate republicans went but they need to come back. Mitt has flipped flopped like a man who has been tased- repeatedly. He won't give details of his plans. He basically has sold his soul to try and get to the presidency.

With FOX, certainly. MSNBC is just as far to the left. I think the others do a better job, I don't know if it so much that they lean to the left or that they continuously call the crazy republicans out on their craziness.

Because I believe in women's rights and gay rights. I also don't think the answer to the economy lies in doing the exact same shit that got us in this mess. I think there needs to be a social "safety net" to help people when bad things happen. I WANT cleaner energy. Stop destroying the planet. I don't want people who feel that religion and state are a good mix.

The President has us on the right track with universal health care and unemployment below 8%.

Romney is an arrogant 1% dickhead who wants to undo all that with the garbage of trickle down economics which has been shown time and time again to NOT work!

The rich simply stuff their pockets with more cash and don't trickle down SQUAT!

-While I have considered myself a moderate Republican, I have second guessed myself, especially since I support gay rights now, where I didn't always in the past and I have started to reign in my opinions on the military, where I use to be more in line with the Neo-Cons on Foreign Policy. But I can relate a great deal with MotleyMaiden's remarks regarding the Republican party. They've essentially lost their fucking minds and maybe St. Reagan played a big role in that with his rhetoric even though his bark was far worse than his bite.

-I might be off base on this, but I think his stimulus should have been bigger and he should have gotten the Bush tax cuts on the upper 1% repealed in exchange for cutting spending but we all know, thanks to assholes like Grover Norquist, my party won't raise taxes at all, for any reason and somehow have it in their heads that St. Reagan the Meek never raised taxes during his 8 years in office. So Obama was sort of fucked either way.

-Yes I do think Obama's administration cares about bipartisanship and I think they have reached out to the other side much more and much better than Congress and Speaker of the House Boehner and minority leader Mitch McConnell has to him. I could quote Mitch McConnell but that would be a waste of time, we all know what a dickhead he is.

-No I laugh my ass off when conservatives try to pain Obama out to be some left wing, socialist. Obama, like most of the rest of our last four presidents, is a moderate. But yes, I do think he has pandered too far to the right at times. But he was trying to get shit done and work with the other side, as it turns out they didn't want to work with him. I was greatly disappointed in the first debate, the second one was better but I hope he knocks Romney the fuck out in the third.

-No, he's not soft at all. I was a little surprised he got us involved in Libya with air support. I'm a little mixed on it myself, but I can't fault him for it at this point. I think most Americans are tired of fighting wars or watching our military fight wars. Had the Bush administration kept the fighting to Afghanistan and taken care of business there like it should have, shit might not be as fucked up today as it is. Obama got bin Laden, DONE! Let's get the fuck out of Dodge. We've had ten years to help Afghanistan get on it's feet and W. and Cheney largely fucked that mission all the fuck up!

I don't think Obama would hesitate to unleash hell if we got hit again like we did on 9/11. I think the Tea Party knows that too, that's why they have to paint him out to be soft because he's had to finish the job their hero W. started ten years ago but never did finish.

-I think the only thing, but it's not a guarantee, that will make conservatives change is if they get voted the fuck out of office. As I posted in another thread, their approval rating is abysmal. But I doubt even this will have much impact on them, they are so far off the charts and out on the ledge. Something needs to knock them back down to earth.

-Someone once told me "you can't turn the economy around on a dime" this last crisis in '08 was the worst since the Great Depression, in fact, it almost was a second Great Depression. The recession of the early 70s and it's aftershocks that Reagan cleaned up had been going on for almost a decade by the time he took office. It went through two Republican presidents and one Democratic president.

-No, I don't think Romney is a good choice. I would much rather see a moderate like Bill Hanna, Colin Powell, Steve Latourette, Tom Davis or even Condoleeza Rice. Who I don't always agree with, like on late term abortions, but I do agree with her that the government shouldn't be in the way on either side of the issue.

-No, the economy can't be fixed without some sort of tax raise. You have to cut certain things, yes but you also have to raise revenue. Reagan did it, Clinton did it, even Bush Sr. did it which cost him re-election.
