Stoner, you are probably right. And kudos to Christie and Obama for working so well together...(though I gotta say that Christie may not mind if Obama wins, because it will open the field completely in 2016...is that too cynical?.)

Talk about your "October Surprise"!

Still, while I am very glad that Obama's admin and FEMA have been so prepared and proactive I really hate that this happened. I can't imagine what NY and especially NJ are going through.

edit: heh....that's what I get for not watching the youtube first....

Not cynical at all - in fact, I think you'd be foolish to dismiss the notion. Not saying his efforts are rooted purely in self-promotion, but Christie actually stands to gain more from nonpartisan politics and reaching across the aisle in the long run than probably any other politician in office right now.

To use Bill Maher's phrase, he could become That Guy - the one that brings the right back towards the center and gives the fiscal conservative/social liberals a home again within the GOP.

It's cool that they can put political crap to the side and work on helping all those effected by this storm..

Sad that it takes a tragedy or an attack on America to bring the sides a little closer these days.. I believe after the Hurricane Katrina fiasco and blame game that the gov will never again fail to react a little quicker when tragedy happens in America.

I also wonder if Mittens loses next week how many on the right will throw the blame on Christie?

All of them.

I imagine Mitt is already ranting and raving about it somewhere.
And I really hope someone gets it on video.

And then they'll turn around and elect him in 2016.
