If the majority of Americans wanted it SO BADLY, we'd see it. It was killed off, plain and simple. If the majority of Americans still wanted it SO BADLY, there would be an outcry for it right now; there isn't one. If there was such strong favor for it, Senators would basically be guaranteeing themselves losing their seats to vote against it. Polls don't mean anything unless you can prove you had a perfect cross section and the questions didn't lead the voters in ANY way, shape, or form. That is COMPLETELY impossible, but my point is that no matter which side you're on, the polls you are going to naturally gravitate towards are going to bolster your opinion. So it is easy to deduce then that people of your opinion are *more likely* to be polled by an agency or entity that wants to bolster/prove that very point.

Let's dumb it down EVEN further:

Is Faux News going to poll people in Harlem?
Is ABC going to poll people in rural Arkansas?
Is the Christian Science Monitor going to poll people outside an Acorn meeting?
Is CBS going to poll people in Appalachia?
