Kind of hard to believe that the NFL couldn't warn those fans in advance that there was a potential problem. I'd be seriously pissed if I was one of those lottery winner fans that traveled all the way from Pitt or Green Bay. A ticket to next year's game means zilch if your team isn't in it under those circumstances. I'd be selling them too, and probably calling my lawyer. Either way, that whole debacle is a huge black eye for the league and J Jones.djwill665 wrote:I'd be pissed if there was travel invovled because they wont comp THAT too. but if I was local and my team isnt in it next year..I sell em point blank. Cash in. They always go for top dollar no matter whos playing.SkyDog112046 wrote:The NFL is going to give the people who lost their seats tickets to next year's game. Or in some cases they are going to offer triple face value(which is probably close to what those people paid for them).
What if those people were fans of one of the two teams playing yesterday and their team doesn't make it back next year? And what about lodging and airfare to make up for what those people spent this year and will have to fork out next year too?
And it now comes out that they knew about the problem at least a week in advance.
What would you do if you were one of the 400 who paid for seats that the NFL knew didn't exist and then traveled to the game?

regarding the situation with the fans/seats, the NFL clearly knew there was a problem mid-week. nobody from the NFL is going to admit that.
they took a risk, hoping for the best result and that risk was the wrong choice.

I heard a radio interview with some guy from Pitt that won the season ticket lottery thing to get his tix. He didn't think it was "all good". He took a week off work and went to see his team play. I don't blame him for being pissed off.Heenan Snuka wrote:who cares, they gave em free super bowl tickets for next year, so its all good

Agreed. Especially since everyone already knows the Steelers won't be in the S.B. next year because the Colts will settle for nothing less than a Super Bowl appearance in their home stadium!bane wrote:I heard a radio interview with some guy from Pitt that won the season ticket lottery thing to get his tix. Superbowl is for everyone...most fans are neutral fans becuase the tickets are sold before the season starts
if I couldnt make a Superbowl this year, Id be happy knowin Im goin next year
and next year's figures to better since this year's was OK but nothing great
add the triple refund and other travel-related perks, i'd be happy
