Sean Penn even ripped on it himself. Saying how "they didn't use him right" or something like that. But really, he's only in the movie for about 5 minutes total, so I can kinda see his point.Tommy wrote:silent_eyes wrote:Tree of Life:
Not sure where to start on this one. Terrence Mallick films most definitely are not for the average movie fan... especially this one. But first off, this was a beautiful LOOKING film, especially on blu-ray. Some great shots and nice sequences of space, volcanoes erupting and random dinosaur scenes... yeah. But I just know there's some random people out there that watched this on a whim and were left wondering what exactly they just spent 2 hours and 15 minutes watching. I honestly don't know if I liked this or not after I watched it. Kinda crazy to say, but I know it's sure be hard to sit through it again.
Haven't seen it. But my GF has and she rips on it every time it comes up.
She basically says it's pretentious Sean Penn and Brad Pitt BS.

I agree - In Bruges was a great movie. Very good black comedy!theglammerthebetter wrote:In Bruges with Colin Farrell 8/10 2 london hitmen are sent to Bruge by their boss after a botched job
Was he blackballed from hollywood a few years ago or was he just fed up with it
Its the 4th movies of his ive seen in the last few months In bruges , Ondine, triage, the way back all of them were great but and definetly not your average Hollywood movie
MI:4 - 7.5/10. Tom Cruise toned himself down in this movie and it worked. I didn't hate him as much and enjoyed the movie. It rambled a bit, and there were some points that were unbelievable - but it was generally a good, exciting action flick. Simon Pegg added a lot.

Damn shame the Education system in this country is so poor.
Kids have to rely on a lottery system to attend a "better school".
Parents are forced to spend up to $500 a month on a 1st grade education.
The school system from the west coast to the east coast is fucked and the
Teachers Union has so much control over the situation, it takes a miracle to fire a teacher who is failing to educate the kids.

Extremely unlikable. Straight up fuckface. IMO only Russel Crowe could give him competition in this department.

Snowtown. 10/10. Best film of 2012 so far.
Based on true events, 16 year-old Jamie falls in with his mother's new boyfriend and his crowd of self-appointed neighborhood watchmen, a relationship that leads to a spree of torture and murder.

Until the Light Takes Us 7/10 fairly good documentary about suicide, arson, and murder in the Norwegian black metal scene in the '90's. i'm not a black metal fan by any means but i found it interesting. plus there's a cameo by the Burger King in Oslo

2 thoughts on the Change Up.
A) It's really fucking stupid.
Secondly) It's really pretty funny. There's an unrated version out there apparently. I can't imagine it being any dirtier. When Katiana takes off her trenchcoat...didn't see that coming.

Black X-Mas (2006) - 8/10. One of the rare examples of a horror remake outdoing (or doing at least as good of a job) as the original. The documentary on it is great too.

The Artist 10/10
No surprise this movie has won many awards.
The film was very refreshing because Hollywood produces a massive amount
of crap films that should never be made.
Black n White Silent Film. Just like they made them about 100 years ago.

Porn star has to change career when she find out shes pregnant with Carla gugino, malin akerman, emmanuel chiriki, lucy punch, julianne moore, joseph gordon levitt, timothy olyphant.
For a movie about porn to only to have one buttshot(gugino) it should be illegal

12 Angry Men: 10/10
Slowly getting caught up on classic films that I've never seen. So far, this one is easily at the top of the heap. This one totally had my attention the whole time and never seemed to drag on at all considering the whole film takes place in one room. Such strong characters and such a great story. I don't usually like rating movies but this one is definitely a 10/10.
Next up...
Poseidon:
For big disaster movies, one would think there would be some likable characters that you'd be pulling for. This was not one of those times. The whole story felt rushed and the characters were some of the most unlikable people. Did kinda suck to see Kurt Russel drown, since well, Kurt Russel is Snake freakin' Plisskin, but hey... you can't win them all right?

For some reason this movie has escaped me to date. Anytime I see the film listed on T.V. I don't find time to watch.
If you want any recommendations, let me know.

These are movies that to me are instant classics and it could be said that Roman Holiday is the most well known of the group.
Champion is a great boxing movie with Kirk Douglas
Lonely Place features an amazing performance by Bogart
Double Indemnity I recently saw in a movie theatre. Barabara Stanwyck never looked to good
Rear Window includes Jimmy Stewart and the gorgeous Grace Kelly. Probably my favorite Hitchcock movie
