Matter of the fact, the last 5 or so GSP fights.

Condit definitely backpedaled for most of the fight.

I agree it was ugly but he was scoring points. Sugar Ray did that against Hagler.

So, when GSP & Condit fight, what? They going to just counter each other the whole fight? Who's going to set the pace & throw the first punch in that snooze fest?

Agree that Diaz was robbed. Wow.

How about Big Country surviving that first round? Dude's face is made of iron or something.

His chin reminds me of Ray Mercer meets Randall 'Tex' Cobb. That boy can take a beating.

After tonight, Condit is no draw. People will not buy the ppv to see him fight. Especially the way he fought tonight. What a f'n joke!

How many times did Condit throw one of those spinning elbows that never landed. Or spinning kicks that never landed. He had all this flashy shit that didnt land crap.

Oh brother!
Dont forget that Leonard was america's golden boy, and everybody wanted him to win.
Besides, its two different sports. Yeah, both sports want to knock each other's heads off, but in a different way.

There HAS to be a rematch. That was a robbery of Shogun/Machida 1 proportions. How do you win a fight while backing up for five rounds while getting punched in the face?

Werdum looked pretty good in the striking department, I have to say I'm surprised, he could be a contender soon. If the UFC were to let bygones be bygones and get Josh Barnett I can see the HW division being really interesting.

I don't know if you guys watch the prelims, I liked that karate guy, seems promising.

Kosheck didn't deserve to win, and neither did Condit. I'm not an expert or something, it just seemed to me that Nick was more dominant and, despite what rogan said, was connecting more effectively.

I disagree with both those decisions too, but I don't think they were the robberies that people make them out to be.

I thought the Koscheck fight could have gone either way, and Kos got it because of his name, and personality. Kos needs to win occasionally to keep his mouth going.

I can see why they gave Sonnen his fight (they want the Silva/Sonnen rematch) but the Condit decision - who was screaming for a Condit/GSP fight, besides Condit?

I know.
Condit is usually an exciting fighter, as is Diaz, so I had high hopes for this fight but it seems like winning the fight was never Condit's goal, his gameplan was to merely outpoint Diaz (which he didn't even do imo). Disappointing.

I know.
What I'm reading and seeing in interviews Condit won because he stuck with his gameplan & didnt fall into the trap of fighting Diaz's fight.
I didnt know you can win a fight by fighting that way without inflicting any damage whatsoever.

He wasn't just backpeddling, at times he was flat out running from Diaz - that was weak, I have zero interest in a Condit vs St. Pierre fight. Before the fight Diaz made a comment when talking about the distinction betwee Condit and St. Pierre, I'm paraphrasing but he said with St. Pierre you just have to worry about losing a decision to the judges and against Condit you have to worry about getting your teeth knocked in - looks like he was wrong about that. I like Carlos but champs don't run away in the ring.

They should just start billing Roy Nelson as a punching dummy. This was his 3rd co main event and the 3rd time it went to boring decision. I really like everything about Nelson, but I am starting to think he can get beat up real well and that is about it. Just like Forrest Griffin.

Good stuff!

Also,
Condit claimed to be a "warrior". That was no warrior in the ring last night.
Machida would counterstrike, but when he saw an opening he would attack.
Did Condit attack one time?
So, will this be the latest trend of fighting?
Backpedal the entire fight and hope to get a decision.

It sure feels like your decision theory is accurate. Lets call it the Jon Fitch or GSP game plan. It's like its less of a loss if it goes to decision and they don't get hurt and they won't get cut because they did not get knocked out or submitted.

They should go to how hockey scores OT wins/losses.

Every camp has a gameplan. if it would have went longer those " baby" leg kicks would incapacited him. Everyone percieves situations differently. As I saw, an overly agreesive one dimensional Diaz get picked apart by a BETTER striker.

I can appreciate someone elses opinion. NO ONE can discount the fact that Diaz was ultimately frustrated and didn't change the gameplan that works for him, that wasn't working. Why? Because just like Bruce said in the 60's "be like water."

Diaz wasn't able to adapt. Just like a crack in the dam. The water seaps through. Over time it flows heavier due to erosian. Finally the dam breaks and the water flows freely. Diaz starts the in ring trash talk, gets beaten HARD, and then didn't show humility in DEFEAT. Condit went to the club and Diaz went to the ER. Who won? Water, the the softest material, but also the hardest. "Be like water, ...it adapts."

I've looked at the upcoming schedule for UFC and it does not look so far. Why the fuck is BADER v Jackson co main event? Shitty, I'm calling now decision Jackson will win. It almost has the setup for every fight to go to decision.

He didnt get picked apart.
Picked apart means by end of fight the fighter gets taken out because he can no longer fight. Diaz could've fought another 10 rounds of this clown's so called "strategy".
Jon Jones is a classic example of a guy that picks apart his opponents. He did against Shogun, he did it against Jackson, & he will probably do it against Evans.

Condit's win was legit. This was less controversial than Sonnen's win last week. It was obvious that Condit landed more punches and more kicks. Diaz didn't do shit the entire fight. Slowly walking with your guard down doesn't mean that you have octagon control.

GSP is just gonna try to find a way to get him down and wrestle-fuck him...like every other GSP fight.
